Tasted Feb 2009 @ The Festival du Voyageur, Winnipeg, MB, Canada. Perhaps influenced by being huddled in a tent listening to fine french fiddle music while twenty below outside, but this was good beer. Looking at others ratings I might be off. As with many things, context makes a difference!

Bottle: Poured a protien-hazed copper-gold with a 1 finger rocky cap that reduces to a surface clinging lace. Well carbonated Aromas of light caramelized malt and a whiff of apple. detectable malt backbone, light-thin body, sharp-spritzy persona Starts with a bite of caramel malt then this spritzy apple-like tartness floods the mid palate with a spritzy cereal- cider decernment...finished clean, crisp uneventful. A decent enough all malt lager but lacks body and proper hopping.

Clear shiny copper, thin creamy off-white head. Stale, light caramel grains. Sweet stale caramel malt. Light whisky hints. Okay flavor, caramelly sweetness adds character, but not enough.

Nice looking dark-amber body, no carbonation nor head. Light crystal malt aroma. More light crystal malt in the flavor with some prune highlights. Meh.

Thanks to Jason for the beer. Has an OK malty aroma. OK brownish amber color (like apple juice) with little white head. Has an initial malty flavor, but it quickly disappears, leaving it devoid of taste. Light body, with a little carbonation. Not good.

Thanks Jason. The beer pouts to a caramel/orangish body with a very thin white head. Such a non-existent head. The aroma is a boring light sweet malt and light caramel. The flavor is a light grainy cereal and weak grassy hop. The palate is smooth, but not really much to it.

Bottle obtained in a trade with <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank> piscator34, thanks Kris. Golden-orange in colour with a dissipating white head. The aroma was very light with only some malt (caramel, cookies, grains and cereal) coming through. The flavour was of light malt (same as aroma) and some cardboard notes. Wet coating mouthfeel, light body, medium carbonation. Finishes a little acidic, medium length.

Thanks to my buddy Bernard and his incredible bottle collection. He bought a bunch, kept one and gve me the rest! Poured a nice translucent red-brown color...small light head. Aroma is light, some hoppiness..and some ultra light sweet malts. Sweet malts dominate the flavor, more than I expected. Fizzy, sweet lager, that’s better than water, but nothing to get excited about. Dry in the end and finishes without much fanfare.
