COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An immense, bold, black as night, american stout beauty; Cavatica is no dry Irish anything. Made in the tradition of terminator, except stronger, one sip and you will surely take notice of what you’re drinking. The name honors this brewer’s affinity with arachnia. Be forewarned, this beer will stain your clothes.

A very big stout. Quite smoky, and quite roasty. Not a sweet one. Some coffee notes. There's an earthiness here that I can't put my finger on. It tastes "black," for lack of a better word. Quite good! B ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3/28/13. Sampled during CBC 2013. I dig strong, carnned stouts. Black pour with a nice tan head that lasts. Somewhat light aroma, disappointing a bit, with mild chocolate, coffee, and roast. Good but disappointing flavor as well, light chocolate and roast, a hint of cream. If this had a little more kick and complexity, I’d be all over it.

BIKE LANE. BIKE LANE. What a tasty beer. This is the second time I’ve been id’ed and the id-er mentioned I had the first Maryland ID they’ve seen. I guess us Baltimore people just don’t get out. Not sure why this is a great city, even if the tattoo to human ratio is much greater than 1. People also seem to like much older cars here. My theory is that they don’t break down since the weather is nice. BIKE LANE.

Taster from tap at the Growler GuysGuys, Bend, 23/05/13. Pitch black with a good sized tan head. Nose is roast malt, dark chocolate, liqourice. Taste comprises roast malt, touch of booze, liqourice, sugars, bitter chocolate. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, dry roast finish. Decent enough Impy.

Thick black color with creamy lacing. Mild cocoa aroma but not heavy on the nostrils. Creamy smooth palate without being too bitter on the finish.

Thanks to the kind soul who shared this at Saint Somewhere Prairie Ales Night. Pours a hazy porter brown with an off-tan head. Nose is roast, earth, some dark chocolate, and some cocoa. Flavor is similar- roast, earth, ash, some dark chocolate, and some black coffee. Medium in body and nice overall.

Pitch black coloured body with a dense, one centimetre tall light brown head and a tiny bit of brown coming through when held up to a light, but this one is like 95% opaque. Aroma of anise, licorice, fennel, roasted malt, alcohol and quite a bit of milk. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep roasty flavour with oatmeal, raisins, milk, anise, licorice and a bit of peanuts in the mix - strong as hell. Aftertaste shows a bit of a roasty vibe with a lot of anise flavours mixing with some lighter sugars. Overall, a strong and pungent stout, on the border of an imperial and normal stout, but the licorice and lack of pure sweetness is evident. Nice to try, and not my favourite stout, but still a good one to try! I sampled this sixteen ounce can purchased from Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington on 10-February-2013 for US$3.50 sampled at home in [the real] Washington on 11-May-2013.

I find great balance in this stout. Big, roasty, and smooth, Cavatica hits all the right notes. It’s slightly sweet up front and ends with a chewy bitter cocoa finish. Yet another outstanding Fort George Beer.

Can of the rye Cavatica from JT - thanks mate! Pours a fairly viscid, deep brown-black with a short tan head leaving heavy lace - looks absolutely lovely. Nose is fairly boozy, sweet and oaky. Medium-heavy body with moderate carbonation and a slight oiliness. Plums, chocolate, toffee, raisins and lots of oak. There is also some dry, rye funkiness that is more noticeable towards the finish, which includes heaps more oak. This one is a bit much for me.
