COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An immense, bold, black as night, american stout beauty; Cavatica is no dry Irish anything. Made in the tradition of terminator, except stronger, one sip and you will surely take notice of what you’re drinking. The name honors this brewer’s affinity with arachnia. Be forewarned, this beer will stain your clothes.

Can pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is espresso roast malts and a touch of smoke. Taste is as the nose with a nice roast malt and a touch of sweetness.

16 ounce can shared at a tasting. Pours a dark brown with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malt, brine, dark chocolate, nuts, grain, green hops. The taste is chocolate, roasted malts, nuts, grain, green hops. Medium bodied, lingering roast and bitterness.

On tap at PreFunk. An extra dose of hops almost takes this into black IPA territory. Smooth and slick, slippery, oily. Small been he head, aroma is mostly roast grains and burnt toast. Taste kicks in with some hops bite, more roastiness.

Can from Bier Thirty. Pours very dark brown in color, nearly black. Topped with about a finger of creamy brown head. Nose is mild at first, I had to let this warm a bit before diving in, but it opens up to a heavy roast, espresso, smoke, and lightly sweet aroma. Strong taste, quite a bit of licorice, but not overly sweet. Heavy roast presence, even hints of burnt malt. Good smoky notes. Lingering bitters and espresso in the finish. Lots going on here, but seamless in transition. Very good stuff right here.

"Like a suped up export style stout. Big roast and chocolate in the aroma and flavor, with hints of dark fruit, licorice, and coffee. Didn’t know this was an imperial, so i didn’t expect it to be so big (and with little hint of 8.5% alcohol). One of my favorites of Canfest.

Thanks Gwen. This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a dark brown color with a one finger off white foamy head that dissipated prettt quickly. Light lacing was soapy around the glass. The smell had a really nice roasted coffee bean with a light smoky sweet vanilla. The taste was roasty, smooth creamy vanilla with bitter coffee. It came across really nice. On the palate, this one sat about a medium to heavy on the body. Sipper- definitely. The carbonation was there and good for the style and for me. But the roasty, smooth vanilla with coffee rolling across my tongue is really nice. Overall, this was a really good imperial stout, wishing these guys would distribute up here.

Poured from can to glass. Dark hue with creamy tan head that lingered well. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, roast, toffee, caramel. Mouthfeel is great with a full body and creamy carbonation. Taste is sweet with a nice roasty astringentness following and a clean finish. Overall this is a fantastic brew.

16 oz can from New Seasons Market in Hillsboro, OR. Looks thick and syrupy. Initial nose is roasty and sweet. Creamy and velvety smooth mouthfeel, with gentle carbonation. Roasted grains give lots of depth and flavor, with little astringency. Aroma has hints of chocolate, leather, and hazelnuts. Very strong and malty, but not too boozy. Great subtle bitter finish that perfectly balances out the sweetness and lasts long into the aftertaste. An all-time favorite!
