3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught. Pours a near black color with a moderate light tan head on it. Nose is a lot more on the IPA end of the spectrum than the roasty end. I get a lot of floral elements with just a bit of citrus, and only a hint of roasting in there. Taste had a lot more of the roastiness to it, with a very healthy dose of the hoppy bitterness. Very pleasant drink.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
16 oz can from New Seasons - Poured black with about an inch of tan head that lasted. Looks delicious! Malt not overpowering, but definitely there. Good hop balance. Some coffee tones. Very nice black IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A nice and smooth Cascadian Dark. As 5000 said, it’s a bit more on the lighter side of everything, roast, hop, and sweetness, but it all works together well.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can:   Deep brown, dirty, muddy, sediment floats about, moderate frothy sandy head, little lacing.   Roast, hop bitterness, , and a little campfire on the nose.   Citrus pith and peel up front, not as roasty as the nose suggested.   Very soft roasted malts otherwise.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Lighter example, light finish, moreso a Black Pale Ale me thinks.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Another great can design from the Astoria brewery. Love the glyphs on it. This is super roasty. If you want a Black IPA to be 50/50 then this one is not it. This chooses roasty and coffee notes. Even the bitterness is more coffee grounds than hops. As it warms more spruce notes pop up.

16 oz can. Dark with a small head of foam. Moderately strong hop aroma. Bitter and a little sweet. Good Black ipa.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A big dry hopped nose. Super smooth in texture with a little chocolate and a mid-register bitterness. I think this is an excellent take on the CDA. The texture really stands out to me, as it does on all their beers.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from tallboy to glass. Jet black hue with a thick tan head that lasted. Aroma is huge pine, melon, resin, ripe lime. Mouthfeel is nice with a light body and high carbonation level. Taste is initially slightly sweet with a bitter following and a dry astringent finish. Nice CO2 bite. Overall, this is a decent cascadian dark ale. A bit more roasty than a traditional IPA.
