COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
North II Grand Crue is a Belgian-style barleywine. This is the second in a series of Fort George beers created for wintertime enjoyment. The brewers wove together ingredients from around the globe, including Canadian Pilsner Malt, Golden Promise from Scotland, Belgian Wit yeast, raw Hawaiian sugar, and oats from the mainland USA. North II is gently warming, with a spiciness of cloves and cinnamon, a creamy body, and a ripe peach finish.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2008 Holiday Ale Festival 2008. Copper with a soft off-white head. Spicy nose of caramel, clove and soft toastiness. Flavor picks up a nutty flavor with lingering spice long into the finish. I wish it had a bit more carbonation to bring out the spices a bit more and dry it out, felt a bit heavy on the palate, but decent. A bit heavy on the coriander for me.

22oz bottle from the brewery. Dark red/brown with thin head. Fruity malt/spice aroma matches a taste that is light and refreshing with a mix of citrus and clove standing out the most. Very unique take on a "belgian-style barleywine". Comes off a bit soapy. If that could be toned down, I’d be a bigger fan.

22 oz. special bottle at DuffmanSW beer tasting. Pours golden reddish with a tiny foamy head. Smells like a peppery Belgium. Bitter citrus flavor with a tangy finish. Very interesting to say the least....Thank you to Mike and Diane for bringing this for us to try.

Bottle at DuffmanSWs beer tasting. Pours a reddish brown with a white head. Spicy and malty with a bitter citrusy finish. Don’t remember much about this one, other than it was unusual but not bad.

Very smooth, but with a strange flavor, was told lemongrass was an ingredient, could be that. Very thankful for the opportunity to have treid this, thanks Mike and Diane

Holiday Ale Fest 08... Poured amber/ruby with a light, beige head. Aroma of ginger and barley-like spices. Almost a chlorine flavor in there which brought down the flavor points. Also some cracker malt-grains, and herbal notes. Finished with barley and malt.
