COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While hops and bitterness are all the rage today this beer takes time to explore the complexity and character of malt. This red is really more of a rich scarlet and is created from a wide variety of speciality malts carefully milled together to form a layer of toast, roast, and bisquit with a nutty finish. These are balanced with mild and complementary hops resulting in a beer neither too bitter nor too sweet.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark amber color with a large white head. A big sweet toasty nose, caramel, fruit. The flavor is bitter fruity hops, medium dry earthy caramel touched malts, pine. Very nice.

On tap at the brewery public house. caramel, toasty, nutty, little dry in the fin. Pretty good for brown - not my favorite style. 6.8

Draft at sb. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a dense and creamy tan head. Big nose that’s genuinely nutty--smells like black walnuts. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toasty darkened caramel and walnut mid palate. Long bready finish. Nice stuff.

Cloudy red amber color with thin white lacing. Malty and nutty aroma. Easy drinking with a smooth musky finish. Solid red ale.

Gravity @ GBBF 2012, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX.

Unclear medium brown amber colour with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty notes, moderate to light heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, light cookies - biscuits. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120810]

2 1/2 oz sample at the brewery yesterday. Hazy brown red hue. Nutty malty nose. Taste starts out sweet before becoming a little sour. Soft carbonation. Pretty good.

Dark reddish amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice fruity hop in the nose with dark roast malts . This is bitter with a light biscuit flavor. Dry finish this is a great pasta brew, Light with the nuts.

On tap at brewery: Wow, malts were rich, roasty and sugary. Had big elements of nuts, toast, caramel, toffee and grains. Bitterness was decent, but it seemed to struggle to keep up with the big malt flavors.
