3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber via Ian. Dirty amber with dark tan head. Sweet caramel malt with lots of muted hops, grapefruit, moderate carbonation, moderate body, mild sweet followed by lots of bitterness and alcohol, long finish. Tasty but not sure if I would describe as a DIPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Pours a cloudy dark orange and amber color capped by a generous layer of beige foam. Herbal hops, grapefruit rind, toasted malt and pine dominate the aroma. The flavor consists of hops resin, orange and pineapple with a bit of caramel malt and lemon around the edges. A little more malt-forward than most PNW style DIPA’s although it still packs a punch in the hops department.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle:   Very sweet pithy start, piney, hoppy, moderate to full malt background.   Dark orange in color, a little dirty, frothy sandy head with spotty lacing.   Feels a little sweaty because of the strong sweet pithy bits.   Pretty strong pith and peel on the backside.   Moderate sweetness, fairly chewy.   Wished it were a bit more subtle, but this one is big on pith and peel, no so much on the orange bits or even the floral aspects.   Decent, but hard to finish an entire bomber.   Thankfully I had help!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a moderate off-white head on there. Nose is definitely hoppy, but seems more earthy and grassy than anything else. Taste is slightly bitter, but has a residual sweetness on the finish. Also ends up being a bit earthy for me here, too. OK, but not great for me.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
UPDATED: JUL 3, 2014 All I can say is wow. If you think that you’ve had it all the time you tried 60 Minute IPA, think again. There’s a new king in town and his name is Tex. From this little brewery on the Oregon Coast comes a colossal IPA that will fry your brian. Super complex, and rich it is now one of my all time favorites.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Perhaps the best commercial double ipa out there. Finally a brewery is able to balance out a butt load of hop aroma and flavor with some interesting malts. You can tell they hop bursted this sucker because it has none of that early hop harsh bitterness. This is the way all IPAs should be made. Got mine at Mainbrew ABV.
