Tap. Poured pretty dark orange amber color with one finger of foamy head. Aroma is pretty classic NW IIPA, big citrus and pine. Flavor is juicy citrus, strong pine, and just enough malt and alcohol. I’m not sure about triple but a great double/imperial IPA.

Tap at 16 Tons. Amber pour with a thick white head and splotchy lacing. Smells heavily of caramel malt with a muted citrus and tropical fruit tint to it as well. Taste is a little more hop forward with some pine joining the citrus fun but still a fairly substantial caramel malt presence. Thick mouthfeel, just this short of being cloying. Solid beer, but I much prefer their standard Vortex IPA.

Tap at the brewery. Dark copper colored pour with a thin off white head. Big malty body, toffee sweetness with a touches of earthy hops in the taste. Sweet caramel aroma with come citrus hops poking through. Too sweet, not impressed.

On tap @ apex. why is it so dark? i think barleywine but also at one point wonder if this is a CDA. Like many good IIPAs has some barleywine resonance, enhanced by that darkness. i smell hops resiny & citrus, dark caramel, prunes. The head fades quickly and then dark brown body may let a little light through.. the mouth gets confused, a light touch, but very drying. as with aroma the flavors mix and balance--burgundy, pine, dark caramel, alcohol. fiinishes sweetly

Poured fresh from a mason jar that was filled at their brewpub... Poured a deep red, rose color with a khaki head that left nice lacing. Lots of hops, citrus, dirt-like, berry fruits, tangy sweetness. Quite boozy, with hints of barley as a balance.
