Belgian style ale that's pale and cloudy in appearance, that's because it's unfiltered and has a high level of wheat. Wit beer is traditionally brewed with coriander and orange zest. Ours uses organic pale and wheat malts, ground coriander, organic lemongrass (to impart a citrus character) and wild-crafted elderflower.

16 oz can. Pours hazy orange with white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma: pepper, citrus (orange & lemon), bread, wheat. Taste: Bubblegum and pepper. Moderately sweet, crisp, minimally bitter finish. Taste is somewhat floral as well, mixed with dirty gym socks (or cheese + BO -- not sure which is a better descriptor). The off-flavors aren’t huge or anything, but they’re there when I focus on them. Palate: Light body, thin, with average carbonation. Overall: okay. Became increasingly harder to drink after the first 4-6 oz.

Can in the Room 316 Tulip tasting, Bodegraven, 27/09/13 bath tub chilled. Hazed golden amber with a thin off white head. Tarteish fruit on the nose, peaches, orange, grain. Taste comprises orange pith, grass, light apricot, more peachyness. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, doesn’t offer the refreshment I’d expect for the style in the finish. Average at best.

Room 316 Tulip Hotel tasting with Ian and Colin. Can. Very hazy orange - gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is light and airy with fine carbonation. Light wheaty malt, dry. Whisper of citrus. Mild minerals. Light airy dry finish. Boring!

Can - pours out cloudy copper with small foamy head. Nose of cloves, spices, and citrus. Highly carbonated mouthfeel. Taste is also of cloves, coriander, and banana. Has a lemon dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From bottle. Light golden color, with a lot of fluffy head. Aroma is slightly sour yeast funk and bubblegum. Taste is light farmhouse, bubblegum, and a hint of grass. Nice bubbly mouthfeel, and a sweet aftertaste.

Cans at home

Hazy light-brown pour. Rather sour for the style, witbier spices and yeast. Entirely drinkable though not exceptional in ant way.

3/28/13. Sampled during CBC 2013. Golden orange pour with a really nice off-white head. Herbal, floral aroma with lemonzest, spice, and pale malts. Soft wheat flavor, citrus, especially lemon, and lingering herbal and spice. Not bad.
