DA (2375), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Jul 13, 2008 On tap at the PDX Green Dragon. Pours like ruby red grapefruit juice, hazy, with a tall white head. Raspberry nose, tart and fresh. Flavor was very well blended, pulling the tartness from the berries while not being overly sweet. The barrel aging gave it some funkiness in the finish that worked nicely. Very enjoyable and well built beer.
Angeloregon (1823), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 12, 2008 On tap at Bailey’s in Portland, OR--Poured a cloudy amber-bright orange body with a swirling whitish head. Massively floral and fruity nose with lots of complexity. Dry tannins across the back of the tongue and a new fruity life unfolded with each quaff. A truly magnificent beer. Awesome! Aroma – Barrel oak aroma with a fruity finish (What?)
Appearance – Amber in color, Thin light head and clear.
Flavor – A fruit beer that was aged in a Barrel. They did it and wow it was pretty good. Very malty and strong fruit sour flavor.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, Nice texture with a dry fruit-oak finish.
Overall – They did it and I think they did a great job this was a sour beer with a good oak and fruit flavor. The beer had some very interesting flavors. One for the books to tell people about.
