COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A smooth and creamy session-style american pale ale. With a straw-colored hue this beer’s dry nature with affable bitterness and lovely hop aroma makes it an easy choice for drinking anytime of the day, even when the sun is rising. This beer is based on the first beer ever produced at the Fort George Brewery (Beer#1). We decided to add 50lbs. of oatmeal to make it even better.

Serving: from can--purchased at The Beer Junction Aroma: moderate pine hop. Appearance: small, rocky, white initial head. Cloudy, medium-yellow body. Taste: lightly bitter initial flavor and moderately bitter finish with hint of grapefruit. Average duration. Palate: medium body, dry texture and lively carbonation. Overall: excellent. Great aroma, not overly bitter, easy to drink, interesting.

Sampled at the Pike brewpub in Seattle. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of floral and lightly citrusy hops, some pale malts, and some dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not a bad pale ale at all.

Interesting concept, and good. Solid APA. Not sure if I’m getting any oatmeal notes, but no matter -- good.

Tall boy can: Pours a light golden/dark straw color, topped with a finger of fluffy sand colored head. A light haze to it. Decent bits of sheet lacing throughout the glass. Light citrus in the nose, florals, malts, and dry. Oats are evident in the flavor, goes nicely with the citrus and floral bite. A little grass and the finish is slightly soapy, but there is enough of a floral finish I can get past it.

16oz. can. Smooth citrusy aroma, sweet fruit, and some grass. Light gold straw, small head. Bitter initial, grapefruit, lotta zest, and some bready stuff. Light body and a bit arid-feeling. Nice, somewhat dank. Oatmeal doesn’t seem to add much. Hops and citrus from top to bottom.

Draught. Pours a mostly clear golden color with a moderate off-white head on there. Nose is light and grassy, and has some floral hoppiness to it. Taste is slightly bitter, but ends up drinking extremely smooth and creamy, and is really quite tasty. Me gusta.

Pounder can picked up at the COOP... but I’ve saw it at Bier Thirty and Whole Foods on Sunday.. Enjoyed out of my HotD goblet.. Hazy golden... Pillow white head shows great retention and lacing. Nose is bracingly bitter.. Dry.. Only hints of pale malt remain. Flavor is again unapologetically bitter... That bitterness is only magnified by plenty of pithy citrus and virtually no residual maltiness to help balance. For the low ABV the body has interesting "heft" to it that I assume is contributed by oats.. Medium body with big carbonation that is everpresent but still small bubble effervescent. Weird... I figured I would like this more... But honestly, the drinkability takes a hit just because the bitterness is soooo heavy compared to all the rest of the parts.

From cask. Pours clear and golden yellow with a fully quickly white head. Aroma is citrusy and slight grassy hoppy. Bitter, citrusy and slight grassy. Dry hoppy and herbal. Bitter and citrusy into the far finish.
