COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Right before we transferred this beer to the fermentor, we ran the wort through 3 buckets of Willapa Bay Oysters. We let the oysters sit in the wort until they started to pop open infusing the beer with the briny oyster juice. Although you cannot taste an immense amount of oyster in this stout, you can taste a hint of salty goodness that lingers in this beer. Drinking this beer is truly like kissing the ocean.

Draught at Bailey’s. Pours dark black with tan head. The aroma is molasses, cocoa nibs, a distant hint of coffee, and some raisin. The flavor is roastier than the nose. There is some bitter chocolate and piney hop bitterness. Molasses and peanut butter in the finish with a mellow aftertaste. Good stuff.

Tap @ Bailey’s Taproom... Poured pitch black with a tan head. Roasted nose, with a musk and tangy quality. I didn’t get a whole lot of brine in this, but a fresh, salty quality that stuck through the toasted grains, and dark coffee notes.

Had this on tap recently at Bailey’s Taproom in Portland, OR. Colour... black with a teeming tan head. Nose... lightly roasty, hints of day old coffee and wet hops. Palate... dry, but not overtly so, loads of roasted malt, bits of dark chocolate, wet earth, charred meat and a medium length, slightly hoppy finish.

Dogbrick (4842) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 14, 2010

Sample at the brewpub, part of Stout Month. Pours black with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of burnt malt, coffee and hops. Medium, smooth body with flavors of roasted malt, coffee and mild hops. Light salt notes as well. The finish is dry and roasty with a coffee aftertaste. Another unique and tasty Stout from Fort George.
