COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India pale ale’s were designed to withstand the long voyage to India. Today, it seems one has to design the IPA strong and hoppy enough to make the trip back as well. Vortex IPA is the Fort George’s first foray into this strong beer category. Our IPA is made with generous additions of cascade, Simcoe and Palisade hops throughout the brewing, fermentation and conditioning phases, balanced with heaps of organic pale malt. We designed this to not rip your taste buds off your tongue, but rather vigorously stimulate them and your palate into a lupulin-ecstacy of pleasure. During the cross-country truck trip our brewery made to find it’s home in Astoria, it was nearly scattered to the cornfields of Nebraska by a tornado. We try to capture some of nature’s intensity in every pint. IBU 97

Can. Light orange, quite hazy, with a creamy orange-tinted hed. Hoppy nose, lots of green notes here, some underlying caramel. Coniferous hop profile, some earthy undertones, caramel malt adds some sweetness. Solid bitter finish. A nice little canned IPA.

Clear green-tinged gold woth little white head. Complex, green aromas on the nose-fresh hops, earth, grass. On the front o the palate, thos beer hits you like its going to be an over-hopped bomb...very hop forward. But then...its not. It mellows into a very even, blanced, fresh and sessionable beer.

16 oz can. Pours a cloudy pale orange color with a small head that quickly fades. Aroma is musty with lots of citrus hops. Oranges, grapefruit, and flowers. Taste has very little sweetness and an extreme bitterness. Very dry bitter citrus taste. Overall, too bitter, even for me, but the flavor is decent. Wouldn’t drink this again though.

Stimulating and powerful start with smoother citrus and light finish. It’s a beer that grows as you drink it. A grass more runs throughout and connects the beer from beginning to end. Recommended if you are looking for an ipa that won’t destroy your tastebuds.

This it’s an amazingly flavorful beer. I’m not usually an IPA fan, but this had win me over. All the other IPA’s in my waterhole are tasteless in comparison.
