Bottle purchased somewhere in the middle of Belgium. Taste is very sweet, sugar, dark fruits, caramel. Body is too thin to really stand out in the Belgian quadruple category…

Bottle. Hazy hay yellow liquid with medium white head. Aroma of overripe fruit, caramel, raw sugar, cleaning chemicals and earth. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of raw sugar, earth and flowers. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Not that good.

Drank at Waalwijk 22-6-2014. Okay beer but not excellent. Golden brown color. A bit foam. Taste is like a typical dark beer, but then a weak version.

Hazy deep dark body with low tan head. Aroma has pine character, little bit spicy, coffee and light caramel too. Taste is higher toffee sweetness, light roastiness, high earthy bitterness with astringent after taste. Body is full, medium carbonation.

Bottled@HBF2014. Hazy deep amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, mildly spicy along with some metallic notes. Also some yeast and herbs to it. Flavour gets quite similar, and gets much bolder when pouring the yeast in. Felt kind of thin and "empty" without yeast. Thin and alcoholic without the yeast, but quite balanced and bodied with the yeast in.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2014 15cl tasting @ Zythos Bierfestival, Leuven. Chestnut-brown ale, beige head. Sweet nose and taste with coffee, dried fruits, gingerbread, herbal/spicy: quite interesting tones but the sweetness predominates. Medium body, medium carbonation, soft mouthfeel.

330ml bottle (HBF2014, Friday)
Yeastier glass had coffee grounds, clearer glass had clove. Same in taste too - lots of clove and christmas spices. A touch yeasty, but not offensively so. Doesn’t say 10%, even though the vapours are quite heady as you swallow. Maybe an overrate as I’m just pleased to have a half-decent beer after the two previous flops by them.
