Bottle from Berts Bierhuis, Utrecht, Netherlands, consumed outside Frank (camper) at Camping de Vliert, Camping De Maesberg, nr Arnhem, Sunday 30th September 2012 Hazy lemon colour with mid carbonation and a small white head. Soft in mouth a little flush of lemon, little spiciness. There was a little sourness on the nose but another sniff and I didn’t get it again. This isn’t bad, better than I expected, I’m quite enjoying this. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Bottle from Bruges. Poured a cloudy golden colour, with only the smallest amount of white head. Aroma of herbs, oranges peal and fruity esters. Straw in the flavour, with spice and grassy hop. Finish was dry grain, hay and peppery hop.

Bottle @ Poatersgat, Brugge. Is a hazy, watery straw colour with a thin head. A little thin tasting for its percentage, but retains plenty of wit taste. Has a slightly better aroma with some lemony citrus evident within its recognisably Belgian nose.

Very pleasant tripel. It is nice and smooth, has a certain butteriness, and cinnaman notes. Nice balance of bitter-sweet.

Bottle @Mondial de la Bière. A clear yellow beer. Nose is light. Beer is watery, wheat notes, floral, fresh but boring, low feeling for 8°.

Aroma of fruit, citrus, yeast, spice, coriander. Flavour is fruity, yeasty, spicy, light to moderate sweetness. Body is a bit on the thin side. An okay, just average Tripel.

Alengrin (2425) - BELGIUM - AUG 18, 2014
The tripel and first beer from this Brugues-based beer company, with thick, off-white, sticky head and lightly hazy, golden blonde robe. Aroma of unripe peach, bread, grains, coriander and cauliflower. Subdued fruitiness, rounded mouthfeel, pale malts, grainy with some DMS, coriander touch, yeasty, mild hoppiness in the finish. Cliché and not entirely flawless, redundant as there are already many tripels on the Belgian market - and many better ones than this.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a hazy straw colour with a frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is yeast, zesty citrus. The flavour is medium bitter light sweet with a smooth yeast, sweet malt palate. Light bodied with lively carbonation and a bubbly mouthfeel. One of the old school beers but not bad to sample.
