Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - MAY 20, 2013
On tap at CatBar in Barcelona. Pours a black body with an inch thick, dense and creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is grainy with some roasts, slightly sweet chocolates, and a bit of a sour acidity. Flavor is better. Lots of chocolates, a nice roast, some earth, a light bready caramel note, and a slight woodiness towards the end. Finishes dry and somewhat bitter with a harder roastiness. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a light carbonation. Overall, a decent porter. The aroma smelled a bit contaminated, but the flavor was solid. Not bad.

Bottle, lote 10. Dry roasted aroma with fine hop aromatics on top. Black, big golden brown head. Good grainy roast, mellow sweet middle, relaxed roast and dry grassy dry finish. Medium body, oat chewy, sparkly mouthfeel. Great balance, very flavourful and drinkable.

Papsoe (25089) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 18, 2013
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an opaque black with a smal beige head. Greasy, buttery nose with a little dark, dried fruits. Medium body, lowish carbonation, heavy tar-like roast, some licorice and a very bitter finish - from both hops and roast. The butter notes are very off-putting. 180313

Well-made porter. Pours quite flat and ends up looking like a flat coke, but that’s really the only disappointing aspect to this beer. There is a nice balance of sweetness and crispness on the palate. This is a beer that could certainly improve.

sfuen03 (318) - Barcelona, SPAIN - FEB 16, 2013
Pours in a very black colo, little reddhis reflections. Correct head, leaves a film of 1 mm, slightly lumpy. Excelleng lacing. Aroma is a little weak; led by dark chocolate and coffee.Medium body, low carbonation, alcohol is well masked. Powerful finish, dry and long. Oat is well present in the taste. Hints of cofee and licorice. Complex, and very well balanced. Excellent.
