2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 deyholla (3533) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 26, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear yellowish gold with a white head that dissipated quickly to the edges and laced slightly. Aroma was full of buttered popcorn with some backing sweet grains and corn. Flavor was similar with lots of butter and some sweet grains and corn, but really didn’t work for me.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 ClarkVV (3578) - Allston, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 21, 2006
Draught pint at the brewery on 11/4/06 Not a clear yellow, but more a maize-tinged golden, with some pale gold highlights. Head is very small, white and recedes quickly to partial cover, leaving no lacing. Very high clarity with plenty of bubbles rising in the liquid. The nose shows off both dusty (saaz?) hops which have a touch of light grassiness in them and then are gone. A bit of waxiness/crayons on the end? Very dry, papery and extremely attenuated. Extremely weak in strength, it’s tough to find much in the aroma. A bit of raw barley-like graininess perhaps? Touch of butter? Mineral water? Reaching.... Very wet and full in the mouth, though the carbonation immediately goes to work, effortlessly pulling apart what little maltiness there is. Almost like baguette dough, with a hint of sweetness, it quickly dries out, while some dried grass notes surface for mere moments through the middle. Unfortunately, there is a fair bit of light green apple and waxiness on the finish, which halts any malt or hop flavors. Not overly watery for the style, highly carbonated though, not alcoholic. The sweetish doughy punch up front and papery/appley character on end does not produce a good harmony and makes what should be a quenching beer, rather difficult to drink.
1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 tbarnette (105) - Allen Park, Michigan, USA - SEP 1, 2005
Very weak, reminds me of a mix between budlight and bud select. If you can get this in a macro, why pay for a micro?
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - JUN 28, 2005
Tap: standard pale golden in color with a ring of film. Light grassy hop aroma. Flavor the same with a little hop kick at the end. Very dry.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 IPFreely (1471) - Sanborn, New York, USA - JUN 27, 2005
Deeper gold color, white head. Milder aromas of malt and a touch of hops. Light malt up front with a lighter herbal hop finish. Light bodied, some dryness. Not bad for a pale lager, yet it’s still a pale lager.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 11026 (1772) - Alabama, USA - FEB 16, 2005
Tap. Suprisingly not yellow in color. More of a light amber color. Light aromas of malt and hop. Light bodied. Pleasant spicey hop flavors. Slightly drying. Decent for a macro clone.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Pailhead (3449) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - FEB 15, 2005
On tap: Weak aroma just light hops. Dark gold with a white head. Light malt up front with a light hop finish. This brewery’s beer for the Budweiser crowd.
