COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An 80 Schilling Scottish style ale. 80 Schilling is an archaic reference to the price of the beer, which was related to the gravity and alcohol content. Medium body, with a red color and slightly sweet caramel malt flavor. Very crisp and dangerously quaffable due to a lengthy period of cold aging. ABV= 4.6% IBU's= 22

Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - JAN 12, 2006
Tap: dark amber/red highlights to light, scant off-white head fades to ring of bubbles quickly. Sweet malt up front with lots of fruity esters in the background. Flavor again all sweet caramel malt up front with a grape flavor through the middle and finish. No peat detectable, decent beer nonetheless.

Simply put, DA BOMB! Very good ale. Tasty, available only at Fort Street Brewery in Lincoln Park, Michigan.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2005 On tap: Aroma is very fruity with light caramel. Transparent amber with an insignificant white head. Very fruity flavored with a moderate grape presence. Hints of caramel in the background and light flowery bitterness in the finish. A nice beer, but wouldn’t have thought this to be a Scotch Ale had I tasted it blind.
