Styles (1653), Taylor, Michigan, USA Jul 15, 2007 On tap 3.16.06. Dark golden amber, nice white head, fades to film. Great lacing. Huge citrus zest and sweet malt up front. Aroma could pass for a nice IPA. Faint rye spiciness in the background. Flavor is all residuel sweetness up front, seems like a huge malt bill. Through the middle grapefruit and orange zest take over. Rye spiciness dominates the finish, also dries it out some. Full and luscious mouthfeel. Again could pass for a nice IPA in most places. Pailhead (2314), Allen Park, Michigan, USA Feb 26, 2006 On tap: Big citrus hop aroma. Mostly transparent orangish-amber wtih a touch of haze and a decent white head that lasts a minute or so. Quick initial light sweetness is quickly dominated by a big citrus hop finish. Rye is minimal. With all the citrus hoppiness, it’s very IPA-like.
