COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after a beer produced in the early 1800's by Farmer's Brewery of Owens & Scott in Detroit (one of the area's first commercial breweries). A fitting name because it's flavorful and yet light enough that you will want it on your table all the time! This is an English style called Special Bitter, which despite its name, is not all that bitter. Made with finest English pale and caramel malt and two varieties of English hops for a quintesential English Ale flavor.

Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - AUG 3, 2005

Tap: dark amber with off white head, made of tiny bubbles. Aroma rather muted, just faint tree bark bitterness to it. Well balanced malt/bitter flavor until a decent bitter kick at the end, again more like tree bark than hoppy.

11026 (1772) - Alabama, USA - JUL 24, 2005

Tap. Nice clear orange-copper ale. Moderate head formation which quickly fades leaving no lacing. Lightly hoppy aroma is earthy. Light bodied. A bit overcarbonated. Nice hop bitterness which again tends to be earthy. Fair.

On tap: Weak aroma is lightly sweet with a flowery hop presence. Transparent amber with a small white head. Lightly sweet with some caramel and a touch of fruit. Some pretty big flowery hoppiness in the finish. More so than most bitters.
