Bottle 500 ml
Appearance: Mid brown with slight haze and ruby hue. Mid creamy head with some lace. 3+
Nose: Strong clean aroma of floral natural honey 7+
Flavor/Palate : Quiet sweet. When they mean honey the meant it. Mead like notion with little malt interruption. Where is dark roast ? It is Czarne Miodowe not just Miodowe? One dimensional for sure , but that honey was great.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2011 Brewed by Witnica. Sweet, but subdued, with a very real earthiness in the flavor. Strong aroma, but not complex; honey, earth. Good carbonation. Better than I thought for a honey beer - under drinkable again, though. Makes me wonder what this would age into - wonder but shudder also. Prolly best drunk fresh y’all. From the Benedictine shop in Bydgoszcz, very fresh.

Tap @ Smocza Jama. Dark, golden brown body with a small beige head. Aroma is totally dominated by honey. Flavor is mostly honey as well with some caramel, very sweet and sticky. This beer is definitively not balanced, on the other side it delivers what the label promises and honey IS sweet. Aftertaste is long and taste like honey of course. Not able to drink too much of this, but served a bit cold I pint can be enjoyed.

Bottle as piwo klasztorne szafarza. Red brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, honey, malt. Flavour is sweet, honey, malt. Medium body. Too much honey.

Bottle, as Piwo Klasztorne Szafarza. A clear, ruby beer with a diminishing beige head. Honey and heather dominates the aroma, in a quite nice way, but I still ain’t very fond of it. Sweetish with some spicy notes as well. Too sweet and honeyish flavor, with some spicyness in the background. Sweet finish. Medium, sticky mouthfeel. Sure drinkable, but not my favourite honey beer. Too unbalanced and sweet. (081229)

chmurarz (504) - Legnica POLAND, POLAND - JAN 20, 2009
looks; almost black, off brown head aroma, caramel, honey - similar to "Wagggle dance" taste; the honey is not so strong as had expected, more caramelly, very sweet, 5,5% alc is not sensible though palate, wierd generally it is distant from beer I think is beer

MiP (11783) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - SEP 27, 2008
Bottle, 5.5%. Sweet honey aroma. Almost black colour. Stable light brown head. The flavour is quite sweet with a distinct honey note and some ginger. Slightly burning ginger aftertaste. Different, but too sweet. Gets undrinkable after a while.
