COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Komes Podwójny (A Dubble/Double Komes) is a dark strong beer fermented with the use of top fermenting yeast. This type of fermentation in the open vats, a high fermenting gravity and the application of dark malts result in a considerably strong beer which pleases the palate with a full, well defined, grainy-fruity taste completed with a delicate bitterness. The key element of the taste maturation of Komes Podwójny is the application of the traditional, demanding method of the bottle refermentation (second fermentation). This is thanks to the refermenting process that the beer becomes stronger and dryer as the time goes and it matures. The complete development of taste complexity lasts for 18 months.

We were brewing our beers without rush, devoting them many time and care – take a joy of them in the same way. May they be the source of your idle enjoyment. A beer maturing in the bottle. A non-pasteurized beer.

Contains: water, barley malts (Pale , Munich, Caramel), sugar (candid, caramel, cane), bitter hops, yeast. Contains yeast sediment. Alc. 7.0%, ext. 15 P.

Bottle. Aroma in fresh version had vey distictive alcohol note, after 1,5 year it almost disappeared. In aroma also roasted malt, coffee, peaches, red fruits, some belgian notes from the yeasts. Nice, quickly disappearing head, brwon colour, very nice carbonation (lke in triple Komes). Taste is similar to aroma, medium body, low bitterness. In overall not a masterpiece, but after one year nice beer, far better than triple Komes.

Bleki (41) - Gliwice, POLAND - MAR 20, 2014
Pours dark brown, with pour head, reduced to none. In aroma - first impression was cheap sparkling wine. But aroma was quickly blended with dark bread, plums and toast. In taste very dry and quite watery. More light, than medium body, thin texture with stickiness at the end. Average carbonation.

Bottle 500ml. Pours chestnut brown, rocky tan head, nice lacing. Weak aroma of spices, caramel, malt. Taste is weird, some coffee, roasted malts, spices, some fruits (?), yeast. A bit of everything.

Mejs (81) - Poznań, POLAND - FEB 22, 2014
When you’ll get a good, non-infected bottle of beer, it is not bad. Aroma of dark fruits, plums mostly, some roasted notes, chocolate. Pours dark brown/ruby, bit hazy with short head. Taste is mostly dark fruits with some roasted sourness and medium bitterness. Alcohol is not very well hidden, you can smell it and taste it as well, so better is to drink it at lower temperature

Bottle. Pours clear chestnut with a medium, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has caramel, sweet milky chocolate. Medium carbonation, thin and watery. Flavour has tartness, caramel, infection. Poor.

Aromaty karmelowe. W smaku podobnie, lekkie nuty palone. Podobne trochę do Krzyżackiego z Gościszewa. Ale bardziej gorzkie. Kolor ciemny ale przejrzysty. Piana średnio-pęcherzykowa słaba ale się utrzymuje i oblepia szklankę.

500ml bottle (Tuulensuu, Tampere)
Very sweet aroma, vakey, coffee and banana. Watery body. Dirty earthy powdery. Fruity esters a bit out of control. Finish is nice, good choco cake. Touch gluey. Not boozy, glue. Dry old book spines.

Bottled@Tuulensuu, Tampere. Deep rubyish colour with a small head. Aroma is red wine, some fruits mild ashy notes as well as some ripe fruits and berries. Flavour is rasins, syrup, rather sugary with some toffee and ripe fruits as well. A bit watery as for the palate.

50cl bottle. Dark brown with small head. NOSE : aromas of toffee, chocolate and tea. Lactic aromas of milk and cheese. Burned tart. SIP : The beer is almost flat. It’s oily with medium body. The beer has a very narrow complexity. It is sweet and it gets a typical delicate lactic acidity but nothing fancy. Finish has a very delicate bitterness. Let’s say it’s just sweet with flavors of toffee and milk coffee. Very sweet coffee. OVERALL : nothing exciting and quite boring. Waste of space in my belly and since I have many other beers to rate I prefer not to overcharge my liver. Also ...I’m used to Belgian dubbels but this one has no such character. One good thing I might say is that it hides well the alcohol.
