COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Komes Podwójny (A Dubble/Double Komes) is a dark strong beer fermented with the use of top fermenting yeast. This type of fermentation in the open vats, a high fermenting gravity and the application of dark malts result in a considerably strong beer which pleases the palate with a full, well defined, grainy-fruity taste completed with a delicate bitterness. The key element of the taste maturation of Komes Podwójny is the application of the traditional, demanding method of the bottle refermentation (second fermentation). This is thanks to the refermenting process that the beer becomes stronger and dryer as the time goes and it matures. The complete development of taste complexity lasts for 18 months.

We were brewing our beers without rush, devoting them many time and care – take a joy of them in the same way. May they be the source of your idle enjoyment. A beer maturing in the bottle. A non-pasteurized beer.

Contains: water, barley malts (Pale , Munich, Caramel), sugar (candid, caramel, cane), bitter hops, yeast. Contains yeast sediment. Alc. 7.0%, ext. 15 P.

Aroma of toasted malts; with coffee, dark chocolate and plum notes. As the aroma hinted, its taste is dominated by toasted malts, with only a moderate hop bitterness. Not particularly enjoyable, but not really offensive either.

Niestety, gorszy sort Komesów, przegrywa zdecydowanie z Potrójnym i Poczwórnym. Piana całkiem wydajna, długo trzyma. Barwa piwa brunatna, brązowa, rubinowe refleksy. Metaliczne, lekko szampańsko-winne. Najmniej klasztorny z Komesów. Przeciętne.

Biorąc pod uwagę że jest to Abbey Dubbel wypada dosyć słabo. Given that this is the Abbey Dubbel falls quite poorly.

Mahogany/amber. Medium head with medium retention. Aroma intensity 2.75/5. Metal and malt in the nose. Medium bitter. Pleasant bready finish. Medium body. Fizzy carbonation

Butelka 09.06.2017. Ponadto metaliczne. Dużo brakuje, chociaż nie jest fatalnie.

Barwa ciemna w kierunku miedzi. Piana bardzo gęsta lecz szybko znika. W aromacie ruski szampan, lekka kawa. W smaku dominuje kawa, trochę tępa goryczka, a raczej jej podmak, do tego spora metaliczność.

Barwa ciemnomiedziana, klarowne, z jaśniejszymi prześwitami, piana zabrudzonej bieli, obfita, drobna, niestabilna, bez koronki. W aromacie ciemne owoce, czekolada, karmel, nieco nut alkoholowych,. W smaku karmel, ciemny chleb, rum, toffi, nieco mokrego zboża i mokrej ziemi, tostów. Wysokie wysycenie, przeszkadza tutaj, goryczka średnia, pijalność też, treść powiedzmy, że ujdzie. Niezbyt bogaty w belgijskie nuty, nieco niedopracowany i nierówny jest Komes, zwłaszcza w przypadku Dubbla. Nawet najlepsze warki niczego nie urywają. Trochę szkoda.

Kolor bardzo ciemny brąz. Piana obfita, szybko znika. Bardzo duże nasycenie. Zapach ziemisty, skórki do chleba, aromaty belgijskie. Piwo wytrawne, lekko kwasowe. Trochę ziemisty, belgijski. Piwo średnie.

50 cl bottle labeled ’2014’. Poured in to a Tulip. Slightly hazy amber colour with a golden tint. Thin, lightly tanned head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, spices and yeasts. Taste is light sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes sweet with toffee and toasted notes. As the beer warms up some alcohol dense notes shows. Not the most sophisticated experience. Okay-ish
