KOMES PORTER reflects the history of brewing, referring to the 18th century tradition of brewing porters in the Baltic states. At their prime, Baltic porters represented one third of the market, which is the best evidence of their popularity. We offer you a well-balanced, dark, strong beer with a distinct flavour. Slow fermentation at low temperatures in open vats, coupled with long (at least 3 months) maturation have resulted in the beer’s character and complete, complex nature. The Porter’s bouquet matures further in the bottle. Time is on its side.

Absolut empfehlenswert.

500 ml. bottle @ Gollem. 2014 Vintage. BBF 01/06/2016. Black with a vanishing dark mocha head. Nose is coffee, thick lager, sweet spices, lightly herbal coffee, creamy rich sugary coffee, silky,… Taste is creamy lager, herbal coffee, light liquorish, faint anise, sweet bark, rich lush herbal silky creamy coffee, molasses, faint roast, very faint coca-cola in a good way, thick spices, very silky & lush thick lager body,… Very lush beer that smells of ancient style and makes me think of stylish 19th century descriptions from novels, a beer that recalls of old glories, a beer worthy of the term ‘world classic’, a highly impressive classic, easily best of the style that I have had. If not for the very steep price, I would have gotten a second one.

Bottle from trade with Kuba - many thanks! The beer has got a deep black colour with a steady, low ehad and smooth body. Aroma of woods, roasted malt and roasted barley. Taste of malt, barley, barrel, oak, trees, woods, dark fruits, vanilla, chocolate and coffee. Smooth texture, highly quaffable. Enjoyed it.

Barva: černá, pěna držící, hustá. Vůně: nádherná kávová. Chuť: hutné husté plné tělo, kávový nástup, karamelové pozadí, jemná chmelově kávová hořkost a dlouhý hořký dozvuk. Parádní porter.

Black colour with beige head that disappears quickly. Some coffee and chocolate notes both in nose and mouth, also some sour notes. Very tasty.

Flasche 0,5 l. Vintage 2014. Farbe dunkel. Schöne feinporige Schaum. Fast desertartig. Antrunk sehr aromatisch ziemlich süß. Wunderbare Lakritze, Kaffe und dunkle Früchte Aromen. Alkohol spürbar. Körper trotz 21° ziemlich lüftig. Abgang lang, überaschend bitter mit hauch Kirsche. Eine Geschmacksreise am Baltikum.

Bottle: 2014 vintage: Served in a Chouffe glass: Black beer with a medium sized creamy beige head. Aromas of nice clean liquorice, some roast, herbal roast, laurel molasses, light coffee, light toffee... Nice. Flavours of liquorice, bay leaf, leaf roast, some sweet roast, molasses, liquorice wood, some cough syrup, bitters... Nice. Aftertaste is a mix of liquorice, bitters, sweet roast, liquorice wood... Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, close to full bodied.

Bottle, date 26.07.2016 - drunk right after buying. Pours deep dark colour with ruby reflexes and an unstable tan head. Light coffe notes in the aroma followed by roasted malts, plum and chocolate. Dark chocolate in the taste is followed by alcohol, cherry, plum and not too strong coffee aftertaste. Komes Porter has its ups and downs. I’ve tried it many times - there are badges that are just a decent baltic porter, there are badges that could be mistaken with RIS - great and intense both in the taste and the aroma. This one is really good, but not the best one.

Tämä kyllä pääsee kuninkaiden patsaiden piiriin. Todella hyvä väri ja maku. Edes kirkas aurinko ei paista läpi
