COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Komes Potrójny / Komes Triple is a strong top fermenting beer of a golden hue. This traditional style is being developed since the beginning of the 16th century when the technology of the pale malt preparation being essential for its production was developed. That was the time when the top fermenting pale malt beer originated. KOMES POTRÓJNY is an all malt beer hopped in the open fermentation vats with a Styrian Golding hop type. It pleasures the palate with a fat malty, substantial taste and a well defined hoppy aroma. The key element of the slow taste maturation of Komes Potrójny is the application of the traditional, demanding method of beer refermentation in the bottle.

The complete development of taste complexity lasts for 18 months. During this time Komes Potrójny is changing its taste from the fresh and fruity to the dry and complex.

We were brewing our beers without rush, devoting them many time and care – take a joy of them in the same way. May they be the source of your idle enjoyment. A beer maturing in the bottle. A non-pasteurized beer.

Contains : water, pale barley malt, sugar, aromatic hops of Styrian Golding type, bitter hops, yeast. Contains yeast sediment. Alc. 9.0%, ext. 19 P.

Bottle. The aroma is not spicy but fruity enough, with apricot and apples, slightly citrusy perhaps. Faintly hoppy, decidedly sweet pale malty. Quite nice, crisp aroma but the taste and especially palate are a disaster. Light to moderate body, sweet, light tart with a faint bitterness. Unfortunately, it’s full-blown alcoholic and unpleasantly astringent, and there is no depth or complexity to balance that. Tastes like a diluted apple/apricot liqueur. What a disappointment.

Bottle, 9%. Very fruity aroma, almost caramelly from the malt. Almost clear dark golden colour. Small frothy chalk white head. The flavour is very sweet and alcoholic in OK balance. Caramelly sweetness with a slightly spicy note, probably from the yeast. Like a cross between a standard Polish super mocne and a Belgian tripel.

Pours slightly hazy golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of malt, fruit and caramel with a distinct boozy note in the long nose. Dryish onset, followed by the malty sweetness and boozy belches. A little watery but ok.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2013 Aroma: fruity (peach, citrus) some malty notes; Appearance: golden, hazy, with small but not very long-lasting white (a little creamy) head; Taste: light-to-medium bitterness with medium sweetness, some very faint alcohol notes; Palate: medium+ body, delicate creamy feel, average carbonation; long bitter finish with alcoholic warmness; Overall: very nice Polish tripel, not the best in style but hey, it’s new and Polish ;)
