2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, courtesy of Cunningham. A more or less clear one, golden in color and with a small, dense, off-white head. Rather yeasty aroma, smelling like the yeast from a Coopers homebrewers kit. Fruityness and some white sugar as well. A faint spiced touch too. The flavor has a nice spiced and hoppy touch, but the yeast sort of kills my joy. Medium body, semi-dry, and softly carbonated. Fruity, lightly hoppy, spiced finish with yeast. Not very interesting in any way. 131026

Spicy and orange, very unpleasant carbonation and alcohol. Not my cup of tea. Yeasty aroma from the bottle. It’s highly doubtly I’ll ever drink it again.

Komes "white". I have some problem with this beer. The batch to batch variations are so considerable that it is extremely difficult to rate it properly. Additionally it’s not so easy to find a seller who would know how to deal with non pasteurised, non filtered beer. But - I think I have finally got a reference bottle and - appearance - pale gold with difficult to handle when pouring carbonation - you have to be careful as it likes to form an impressive head. Aroma - some diacetyl, earthy, acidic, no trace of hops. Taste - very sour, acidic wthout a counterbalance in malt, very alcoholic. Esthersand fruits as well. Carbonation is very aggresive, palate is very thin, aftertaste is sour and some unidentified chemicals.
This beer among Polish beer geeks is named Polish Tripel. Please don’t use it - can’t imagine a beer that would be that far from Belgian Tripel. The only they have possibly in common is gravity and ABV. This beer is a dissapointment, but I’ll keep few bottles in the cellar to check if it improves with time.

14/VIII/13 - 50cl bottle @ Internationaal Streekbierenfestival 2013 (Zwevegem) - BB: n/a (2013-768) Thanks to Domien for sharing today’s beers!
Cloudy dark orange beer, creamy irregular white head, little stable, adhesive. Aroma: citrus, sweet malts, lots of orange peel, sugary, cloves, bit spicy. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: slightly bitter start, some orange peel, sugary touch, alcohol is very well hidden, some citrus, little sour. Aftertaste: bit of citrus, candy sugar, nice bitter ending. Ok, maybe I’m just a sucker for tripels, but I like this one. Good style imitation!
