3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 johndoughty (2946) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - OCT 12, 2008
Golden with some carbonation. No real flavour just bland but inoffensive. Might be reasonable on a warm summers day if nothing else is available but otherwise one to be avoided.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DrDavid (957) - Johnson, Vermont, USA - DEC 27, 2008
Bottle. Moderately sweet malty aroma. Golden body, thin white head. Flavor is bready, sweet, with a slight bitterness in the finish. Pleasant.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 marcus (4065) - Sacramento, California, USA - APR 11, 2011
Bottle shared by beerboxer. Pours clear golden with a modest white head and a floral aroma. There is a watery pale malt flavor with a bit of grape. Refreshing, but not remarkable.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 19, 2006
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2007 A surprising waft of bunny hutch when you prise the cap (compliment). Lots of skunky straw. There might be some hops in this one. Crisp, pilsenerish lager in the Italian style, with just touch of parting bitterness. Soft and malty, with a sugary smoothness imparted by the maize. The label sneakily juxtaposes the letters FA (an abbreviation of the beer’s name, an expletive phrase, or the English Football Association?) and ’official sponsors’, without specifying who or what is being sponsored. Bonus point for legal cheek.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Fin (5749) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 18, 2008
Bottle from the Dodgi’ Deli, at just 39p it had to be done. Had this 17-03-08 Golden in colour with high carbonation and with white bubbly head. Unusual taste at first with strange garden refuse aroma and seeping into the mouth, I know that sounds bizzare but that was my first thought, that warm wet decaying grassiness. This taste soon disappeared and it mellowed to be a bit cardboardy and bland, honey on nose after a while, its ok.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cunningham (1946) - Halden, NORWAY - OCT 31, 2011
UPDATED: FEB 14, 2012 Bottle from an off licence in Liverpool. Light yellow colour with a white head. Very moderate and mild aroma and flavour.
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 nick76 (3591) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 28, 2009
One of the few beers that I have had that is almost without aroma. There is a touch of adjunct malt and even less hops but that’s all. The appearance is golden with a small head. The flavor is weak and like the aroma but not offensive, mostly adjunct malt and metallic hops. The palate is typical for the style. Overall a drinkable but weak beer.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 brianprentiss (620) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 15, 2005
This is a mediocre Italian Lager. It compares favorably with Birra Moretti and is probably a bit better than American standard macro lagers. I would certainly have this over a Budweiser (or Heineken for that matter.)
It is pissy yellow and smells rather crummy when opened. The palate and taste are not horrible but there is no hops taste, mainly straw. Very little head when poured. Fortunately I bought only one of these rather than a six pack.
I could find no evidence on the web of this beer’s existence. It is clearly imported from Italy into the US by Worldwide Import Network in Orlando FL. They are not on the web either and I have only seen this beer one place in Orlando. Forza Azzurri appears to be an Italian soccer team and the label says they are the "official sponsors."
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Drew1966 (5) - USA - DEC 30, 2006 does not count
Forza Azzurri pours a very light copper color with a thin white head from a green 33 cl bottle. The aroma is sweet malt. Taste is all sweet malt too, no discernable hops to be found. Reminds me a lot of Eastern European lagers.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 berkshirejohn (3020) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 27, 2007
33cl bottle from Somerfields. Straw coloured with a touch of white head; strong grassy smell; sweet with biscuit flavours; a hint of bitterness on the finish.A fairly bland Italian style lager.
By the way, Forza Azzurri isn’t just any Italian football (soccer) team, it’s a nickname for the national team.
