COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Filtered and pasteurised. Available with added carbon dioxide in keg, can and bottled formats. First brewed in 1887.
Available in Britain as Export.
"A light-coloured lager style, it presents full malt character with a balanced clean hop bitterness. Combined with a slightly hoppy, but yeasty/malty nose, Foster's lager is a full bodied beer with excellent drinkability."

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2003 When your choices are limited, this is a solid choice. Good bittering for a mass-production brew. Rerate 1/16/03: A few notes of caramel, a little bump for coming in a quart can. Defintely the best thing that you can get at the minit markit in a quart.

There is nothing wrong with this beer, but at the same time it is completely forgettable. Aroma is minimal, palate has no bite. I’m not buying it but it might be the best there is to drink at somebody else’s party.

Here’s another beer with a lot of hype and very little substance. All show and no go. People gladly hand over import pricing for what they believe to be an authentic Australian classic. This beer is brewed in Canada and shipped to the U.S. so they can still put the word ’imported’ on the cans. Actually the Australian version is no better so at least it’s fresher coming from Canada. It is bland and very, very ordinary. Why pay the price when this beer isn’t even as good as Old Style, Ballantine or Schlitz? If you don’t believe me, do a blind taste test and let your own taste buds show you.

G’day. Foster’s--it’s Australian for average. I like the cans, so it gets a few more points, but tastewise there’s just nothing much going on.

Average tasting beer. Does it still come in oil cans?

Among the best of the large industrial all-purpose beers out there. It doesn’t try to disguise what it is, which is a definite plus. Very good with pizza or pub grub. Nice fresh lager taste.
