COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Foster's Light Ice represents a new breakthrough in Australian light beer development. A unique brewing process has enabled CUB to break the flavour barrier for light beer. This has been achieved by new brewing techniques, which retain full flavour, and include the use of ultra high gravity brewing and chill filtering. Foster's LightIce is a smooth, full-flavoured, easy-drinking and extremely refreshing beer.

They broke the taste barrier for low beer!...Too bad they didn’t know what was broken and what needed fixing. Tastes like a malt liquor and it’s only 2.3%. Good for the alcoholic that doesn’t want to get too drunk

Looks vaguely beerish, other then that, basically water. In a blind test I’d say 9 out of 10 people would mistake it as soda water, and even then they’d think it tasted bland. Fucking laughably pissweak, just buy a bottle of Perrier instead. FAIL.

375ml bottle. Doesn’t look too bad for a low alcohol beer, a bit thin but a nice amber colour with a wavy foam crest. Aroma of wet cardboard and grass and a horrid metallic aftertaste with no real level of bitterness. Thin and watery.

Can. Pale golden amber in colour with a thin frothy white head. Thin bodied, watery mouthfeel, average / highly carbonated and thin bodied. No flavour with a slightly metalic aftertaste.

Well, I knew it would come up some time after running low on the available brews in the fridge of my local beer shop. Sometimes tasting swill brings out ones creative side when it comes to rating it, but this one just seemed depressing so I’ll do my best. Tasted from the bottle into a tall stem glass. Bright medium gold body with a dense, mostly diminishing, lather of white bubbles that managed legs down the glass. Oddly, it was quite attractive in the glass without that all too artificial look of most Aussie lagers. Old staling mown grass left in the sun and a hint of baby puke made up the unappealing aroma. Thin, watery and lightweight in the mouth, yet oddly gluggy in the finish and restless once it reached my stomach. There’s hints of bready malt and soggy ’bin day’ cardboard, so atleast it wasn’t void of flavour, and the finish is sour and puckering like a white wine spritzer. As it warmed it became soapy and slick, so its obvious serving temperature must be near frozen. Not the worst of the Aussie macro’s to say the least but it was one I was glad to get out of the way and now forget. (355ml, BBE 03/06)

Heh, my Mum likes to drink this. Certainly a girl’s beer. Less offensive than VB. Refreshing in the same way water is refreshing, but water is free.

Wow, a beer that actually has LESS flavour than Bud Light! Unbeleivably bland in every regard. Refreshing only in the sense that it is cold and has a faint beer flavour.
