2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
This was definitely better than I was expecting, although it was not very special or bitter. Brownish orange with a very thick foamy head that dissipated quicker than I expected. Light hops aroma. Flavor was really not bitter in any way, it was rather mellow with a malt presence. A little tinny and thin which I WAS expecting. Dry, lightly fruity finish. Overall I think if they tweaked this one a little it would be worth another try but as it stands it is kind of mundane.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Thanks to my project manager for finding this in Alex, NC. Pours a deep shade of gold with huge, creamy head. Aroma of hopcit, honey, some florals. Tastes bready malty, with solid honey and hopcit elements at mid palate and an increasing sweetness as it finishes. Not bitter, but not bad.

0.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Stubby 24oz can from Big Save split with Matt (and the plughole) at the house in Kaua’i, 27/08/12.. Copper with a slim but lacing off-white cap. Aroma of crusty, sundried, sea-soaked swimming shorts...something unspeakably nasty, cooked mussel meat and candlewax. Rusty, sweet breakfast cereal, slimy, shredded wheat flavour. Tesco bitter? Truly horrendous.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a transparent bright copper with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet caramel with some earthy piny English hops. Body starts with a mildly sweet grainy pale and crystal maltiness along with some bitter, earthy hops toward a crisp, but blander finish. A decent EPA, and surprising it came from Fosters.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 25.4 oz can. Clear orange-amber pour with a slightly spotty white head. Aroma and taste are light yeast, grain, and mild caramel. Far from good, but not offensive either.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
25.4 oz. can from Keller’s IGA. Like the flagship Foster’s, I love the big cans. But that’s where the positives end on this one. Pours amber with a massive frothy eggshell head. I can’t describe the aroma any better than the previous rater: "skunked malts." Maybe also some corn and artificial sweetness in the mix, too. I hated the flavor on this and choked down every gulp; it reminded me of malt liquor more than an EPA. Skunky, with a nasty booziness, some grain, corn, and hops, and also a rainwater-like flavor to make things even nastier. Light body, active carbonation. Skunky finish. I actually prefer the Foster’s Lager.
