Not bad for a cheap ale. Better than the lager. There isa something fun about drinking from the big can

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
25.4 oz. can, given by Mason. Pours a light brown, with a big, foamy, beige head. Big bready aroma, with some earth, caramel, and rye. Very sweet and malty, with just a hint of hop bitterness. Light to medium body, sticky, and a little thin. Overall, this is a reasonably tasty beer; similar to a vienna lager, or a light brown ale.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Transfer from BA review on 10-24-12-
Poured from 750 ml can into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a darker golden/amber color with a big white head. The head fades relatively quickly, leaving a decent level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is very light overall. It consists of some lighter bready notes as well as a very light grassy hop smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a malty and sweet flavor. The malt is of a bready nature with the sweet being a mix of a corn and caramel. Toward the middle of the taste, it intensifies in sweetness with more caramel and corn coming to the tongue. In the end, a lighter haylike and grassy hop flavor bring some bitterness to the tongue. For the most part it would have been nice, except that with the hop flavors at the end there is a rather off papery flavor that pulls away from the rest.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather average in terms of creaminess as well as carbonation. Both are rather nice for the style and make it rather easy drinking.
Overall – OK. If it wasn’t for the paper taste that comes to the tongue at the end it would actually be a beer I would go to on more occasion as a session, but since the taste is there, I would likely take something else.

Rubbery garbage disposal smell. Clear dark amber, thick lacy head. Stale malt flavor, vanilla, tinny. Grassy cherries finish. Not great.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Giant can from the grocery store. Pours a super transparent amber with a thick layer of off white head. Aroma of cheap malts and a hint of lemon. Taste pretty much the same as the aroma but way more malty.

Last second nab at market. This was almost my 2k that would have been unremarkable. Pours clear amber with frothy head. Nose is grainy and metallic. Tastes caramel, metal, light florals, grainy, and some hop bitterring. Slight sticky palate come in nice big can.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
It has a very clear and bright golden color with a tall foamy head. The head slowly fades down to a very thin layer that just hangs on until the last sip and makes only some spotty and slick lacing on the glass. The aroma is semi-sweet and grainy with a slightly floral hops in the background. Its flavor has a somewhat sweet with husky and grainy alcoholic malt and very mild hops that add more bitterness than flavor. Its finish is quick and grainy The texture is slightly thick and smooth with average carbonation and a medium body.

Poured a straw color with a white head. Aroma of cardboard, pale malt, and grass. Flavor similar, not good but better than regular.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
For being a cheap and unsophisticated beer, this is decent, has more of a full flavor than your average macro lager. Appearance is nice full caramel bronze color, although Foster's admits on the label that they cheated by adding caramel color. At least they're honest, although knowing the beer you're drinking is partially artificial is a little unsettling overall. Either way aroma is metallic, taste likewise has metallic notes to a grainy and moderately bitter flavor. Finish is not clean, didn't strike me as refreshing overall. Don't go out of your way to try it.

Smells funny, looks good (after all, it clearly states on the can ALE WITH CARAMEL COLOR ADDED). I’m still looking for that lawnmower beer, low ABV, inoffensive flavor, good price. This stuff isn’t much but it is better than regular Fosters and quite a few other adjunct brews. Brewed in Albany, Georgia.
