rauchbier (3205) - Isle Of Beer, - JUN 20, 2006
Bottle, courtesy of an unsuspecting S&N rep. Gold, thin white head and gentle condition. Delicate chalky grain notes in the nose with just a touch of grassy hops, initial malt in the mouth with a building fruity sweetness that eventually becomes slightly citric with traces of lime noticable. More gentle fruity citrus notes in the aftertaste but developing an artificial sweetness with time and a slight oiliness on the palate. Shouting about citrus hops on the front label then revealing the presence of lemon and lime juice on the back label seems counterproductive, and the result is disappointingly lacking in any hop character.

Fairly bad citrus spin-off from what is already a terrible tasting lager beer.

Papsoe (22983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 16, 2010
Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Lightly sweet malt with a twist of lemon in the nose. Medium body, odd bonbon accents, some brewing cereal and cardboard. Rather tart lemon accents. Ends dry - almost astringent. 160110

Is there any point in this beer? It’s a fairly common trick to put a lime in some poor lager to disguise the stale nastiness of the experience, but substituting the lime with an odd, artificial lemon/lime flavour is just bizaare. Taste is pretty much standard musty grain lager, and some bitterness from the lemon/lime but no freshness.

Bottle 33cl. Clear glass.
Clear light yellow color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, cardboard, light hoppy, lemon. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20081231]

Clear with no carbonation. Not a lot of body just a kind of sickly citrus taste. A novelty beer and not a very good one at that.My first Fosters rating and hopefully the last for a long a long time.

Bottled. An anaemic hazy and very fizzy diluted urine coloured beer. The aroma is plastic. The taste is chemical with hints of lime. Harsh nasty flavours. Only useful in a heatwave.

330ml bottle @ Cardinal (sampled from someone else’s bottle, not the kind of beer to purchase when visiting Cardinal). Golden body with a foamy white head. Aroma is to much citrus/lime and no beer. Flavor is not balanced at all, its sticky, sour and vapid. Rather thin body and not much reminding of beer at all.

sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 9, 2007
(Bottled) Clear golden with a smallish, quite lasting and a bit lacy head. Corny, mildly acidic aroma with some lemon. Sweetish-corny-malty flavor with lemon, and a drier, acidic finish. Light to medium-bodied with quite smooth carbonation. Surprisingly drinkable with lemon actually making the bulk lager taste better.
