On tap at Skanzen Klub. Clear pale (almost gold) color with white head. Malty aroma with spicey hops. Medium bitter taste. Light body with lively carbonation and slick body. Light bitter finish. It’s a nice everyday beer.

Poured a clear pale yellow body with a thick white head. Fruity, nice malty nose, for a while...

Draught in Vecsés. Clear pale golden colour, poor head. Cooked maize and honey pastilles in aroma along with lots of butterscotch and hints of citrusy hops. Almost lifeless in body, there is a little Co2 though, and lacking in maltiness. Green bitterness from hops, a bitterness that lingers and feels herbal. Lactic undertone as well. Pretty dry beer and light bodied. It’s sad to think about how this beer was treated.

Szalmasárga színű főzet, melynek közepes, krémes fehér habja nyomot hagy a pohár szélén.

Marko (3115) - Split, CROATIA - APR 2, 2010
Draught at that Osterbräu Fót outlet on Veres Pálné ut. 220HF for 0.3l, nice enough. Poured a clear pale yellow body with a thick white head that stuck for awhile. Fruity, nice malty nose, somewhat hoppy. Definitely pronounced. Sweet fruity taste, definitely plums. Dry, light hopiness near the end. A fine light lager, way above the average Hungarian macro pale lager.

ogivlado (4444) - Zagreb, CROATIA - MAR 31, 2010
Draught at bar on Veres Pálné ut. Served in odd fat glass. Slight hazy yellow coloured, small to medium sized white head, dusty nose with touch of honey. Moderate malty, weak hoppy (but surprisingly pleasant) slight lactic yoghurty taste. Mild bitter finish. Average.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2009 My Bottom Line:
This clean and softly malty Helles is quite drinkable and well rounded, but its lack of definition (and hops!) make it a bland pint for me.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A frothy head of foam covers the clear gold.
-This is not hoppy enough to be called a Pils (which it was on the menu).
-The malt flavors are faint even though plenty of body is provided. -In the end, this simply lacks flavor.

On tap at the nameless pub on Veres Palné in Budapest.
