Purchased a 12 pack of cans across the bridge in Wisconsin. Poured into a pint glass. Golden hue with just a touch of amber (maybe). Decent head off a can pour. Lively looking beer in the glass. Clean aroma, slight hop and malt upfront on the nose. Moderate up-front pine and slight citrus on the palate. Super clean finish. An extremely well-balanced pale ale. I would put this session pale ale right up there with New Glarus Moon Man and Bent Paddle. This beer delivers, as advertised. Looking forward to fishing with a couple (three) of these this summer. Well done, Founders.

355 ml bottle from The Local Pub, Athens Greece. Poured a clear golden yellow color with a nice white head. Aromas of pine, citrus, lemon, grass and some tropical fruits. Similar taste of grass, pine, lemon and grapefruit, pretty hoppy. Long and dry aftertaste, pretty bitter. Light body and low carbonation!

VTHopHead (1511) - Barre, Vermont, USA - MAR 2, 2014
12oz bottle - Pours a light amber in color with a medium white head that fades, but produces some minor lacing. Aroma is hoppy... grassy, citrus, pine. Flavor is also hoppy with citrus and tropical fruits. A bit watery. Finish is mildly bitter. Good session beer...

355 ml. bottle. Hazy, deep golden colour with a thin, bubbly white head. Fruity aroma with grass, citrus, grapefruits and light peach. A hint of caramel malts. Taste is bitter. Light to medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes bitter and dry with fruits and grape. Very nice IPA. Extra credits for the lower abv.

Orange pour with a slight haze. Head is white and airy with some rather large bubbles. Aroma is big with pine, canned pineapple and some lemon. Flavor is orange and pineapple. Malt is thin and lacking. I know the goal is to have a hoppy beer with minimal malt, but I kinda miss the body to this one. Nice hop flavor, but comes off as bitter and watery to me. Certainly serves its purpose, but for my money the session IPA style is a bit superfluous. If I want something light I’ll drink a pale ale or something else that is able to be crisp and complete with low alcohol. If I want big hops I’m going to reach for a proper IPA in the 6-8% range.

Good flavoring... not over the top. A little bitter for a session yet not to much. Loved the balance and hops used

Buona davvero!
