bottle - Pours clear yellow-orange with very little head. It has a pleasant aroma that includes citrus and floral notes. The flavor is moderately bitter. A touch of citrus is joined by a mild pine character and easy going malts. It’s light bodied and bitterness lingers on the palate. It’s fairly good but I’ve not found any of the session IPAs as tasty as a good regular IPA.

malty, light well balanced session IPA, but not in perfect shape. I drank this in Italy, so I assume Founders doesn’t know how to keep their beer in good condition overseas.

Tap at Fermentoren. Pours a nice, clear, light amber with a small, white head. Aroma has pleasent hop bitterness and a bit of exotic fruits. A little bit of stable/horse in a non-funky, but more grainy way. A bit of herbs and weed too. Taste is pretty bitter up front, followed by a small, watery malt sweetness. A weak hop-fruityness here, but not much. I don’t know how fresh this is, but it seems a little weak in the hops, and pretty watery in the body. Medium carbonation.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Subtle, citrusy hops in the nose. Light body, but never watery or anything. Usual biscuity US-style malt bill, slightly caramellish but with enough balancing hops at all times. Dry and lightly bitter finish. Easygoing and pleasant. 230914

Bottle from Merchants, Rugby. Had this before but first time rating. Nice grapefruit aroma, some tropical in there too. Taste is grapefruit, low bitterness with a slightly sour end. A touch watery but still some spiciness present. I see the idea. Not bad.

I have had this several times, but for some reason didn’t rate it. Here goes: A clear light golden brew with a frothy white head that settles to a thin lace. Very nice aromas, citrus, bread, floral and spice. Body is light and somewhat fizzy. Flavor is good, although somewhat grassy. Lingering bitterness. Not very refreshing, but would be good with food.

Can @ The Garage: clear gold color wth a fluffy head and sticky lacing. My favorite kind of IPA with aromas of pine needles, grapefruit, and juniper. Hoppy dry flavors with a crisp aftertaste. Solid!

Bottle. A- Peaches, mangoes, citrus, grassy, juicy. A- Orange color, slightly hazy liquid, off white head. T- Bitter, grassy, citrus, resin. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, crisp bitter finish. O- I was starting to think session IPAs were a pointless not so good style, but then I had this. Tons of citrus and tropical fruits on the taste and aroma. Just a solid refreshing beer.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with white head. Aroma is fruity with mango, grapefruit, citrus, some malt. Good. Taste is light sweet, medium bitter, citrus, pine, grapefruit, rather dry. Aftertaste is bitter, soft carbonation, bit watery, very sessionable. Good.

Pretty decent. I appreciate the fresh hop nose, very green, leafy, with citrus rind and a touch of pine. Flavor is similar but there’s a let down here as well. First the complexity of the hop nose is lost, becoming more one dimensional with just citrus. Still that was nice enough but in working to make this beer sessionable, they have created a very dry beer, and the hops become almost too chewy and harsh in the absence of any malt backbone. In the end in feels almost empty, watery mouthfeel. Not even hopjuice, more like hop water.
