3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is pine and citrus. Flavor is very mild with a strong citrus piney hop flavor with very light bitterness. Very little malt backbone which works well with the style of IPA.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAY 31, 2014 Not a fan, watered down and bitter, waste of my money. I understand what they are trying to do, but the flavor is just way too far off to be considered a decent IPA.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Svijet Piva - wasn’t expecting to crack this one open, but I felt it’s been in my fridge for way too long - enough to provoke freshness concerns, and we’ll get other bottles for the tastings anyway to rerate. Anyway. Fuller golden/amber body than I expected, medium white head that didn’t stay long. Lovely fruity aroma, tropical fruit, elder, sweet, perhaps malty underneath, turns slightly citric (though still in elder range). IPAs like this one are always a joy to smell. Ah, yeah, elder again, vaguely citric. Yeah, the body’s a bit thin, just some shades above watery near the finish but not excessively so, even if only just. Fine bitterness, some pine I guess. Soft, light maltiness. The aftertaste builds up but doesn’t overdo it. Ah, it’s definitely a good beer. Definitely not an everyday beer with the price it has here, but I wouldn’t mind having it again, more fresh.

Flaske 0,355l fra Kilpishalli. Gyldenbrun. Ok skum som varer en stund. Litt lacing. God aprikos/ananas-aroma. Smaken det samme - men blir litt vassen. Litt tørr avslutning.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Great concept for a beer and well executed. There is an inevitable trade-off for the lower abv - feels a bit thin and finishes abruptly - but overall this is a very tasty customer for its weight division. Nice-looking - marmalade orange with a thick centimetre of head. Mouth-watering, sweet aroma of passionfruit and tinned peaches. On the tongue: barley water, passionfruit again, mango. Good bitterness level for the concept. I can imagine putting a few of these away if the Australian price point were more session-friendly. Crikey, that went down fast. (355ml can from Leura Cellars. 3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, poorly retained off white head, with some lacing, over a very slightly hazy gold (SRM 5) body.....nose is pine, citrus peel from the hops, light cereal, no esters, balance to the hops....taste is light pine, resin, grapefruit peel, hints of floral, light cereal, minimal sweetness, finishing dry, with moderate lingering bitterness, no esters, balance to the hops.....mouth feel, medium body, no astringency, no alcohol, light acid finish. This is a pleasant, nicely balanced, somewhat light beer. It is obviously an IPA, with a relatively low alcohol which makes it quite session-able. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JAN 8, 2015 On tap, poured into a plastic cup. The aroma is prominently a bitter grapefruit note with some grass, and a bit of a floral touch. It pours a clear, dark golden color, with a puffy off-white head. A thick ring retains with some light surface coverage and it leaves behind an okay lace. It’s taste is a mellow, medium bitterness with a very light sweetness to it. This very much has a dry, pilsner-grainy type character to it. It’s a bit on the watery side with a light, fizzy carbonation and a medium body. It’s a clean and dry finish with the bitterness of grapefruit membrane, and a clean lemon flavor. There’s also a gritty sawdust and grassy touch at the finish. The citrus and grass stick around for a moderate amount of time in the aftertaste, but it’s very mellow.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Decent beer, but the finish is not there. Too much carbonation. This is a properly hopped IPA, good taste as well.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle pours with a crystal clear copper body that supports a thin white head of foam. The aroma has a nice mix of mango, peach and tangelo fruitiness floating on top of some spicy dank hops. The taste delivers pleasing levels of hop bitterness supported by mild hop flavor and a perfect amount of maltiness. It has a good dose of bitter to resiny tangelo and grapefruit mixed with dank onion like spicy hops flowing slowly into the semi sweet malt base and then smooth citrus hop flavor. The largely bitter citrus hops run the flavor from front to back. This is a well executed session IPA where the hops are firm and bitter but are well supported by just the right amount of body and thin ribbons of malty sweet notes. Oh yeah, this will do.
