3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint on tap. Lightly hazy orange-amber with a lasting ring of foam. Aroma is resin and toasted grain. Taste is resin, caramel and toast. Finish is a bit rough with some wooden grainy and grassy notes. Light-medium body has too much carbonation but a nice balance. Good but a bit of a disappointment; I’ve had half a dozen better SIPAs in recent months.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, 0.355l. Hazy amber orange color with medium frothy white head, fair lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of citrus, lychee, pine, herbs and caramel malt. Taste starts with light sweet malt, follows by refreshing fruity acidity with heavy bitter finish and long aftertaste. Medium to full body, dry texture and average carbonation in palate. Great after work pleasure...

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught. This beer is okay, but not a stunner. Starts off good, but finish is suprisingly lacking. I would consider this kind of a starter IPA if you will. Very light. Wish it had more of a punch. That said, it’s a drinkable choice if nothing better is available.

12 oz bottles. Nice ipa. As the name suggests, you get the good hops, but not high alcohol content.

Pours copper with a white head. Smell has a nice balance of resin and spicy hops. Tastes crisp and dry with a pleasantly subtle bitter finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz can into a glass. Pours a medium pale yellow/orange sunshine, looks gorgeous. Head is small, thin and leaves light lacing. Aroma is superb with frontal hops, grapefruit as the primary citrus, honey, lemon, and light cider. Taste is dry, hoppy, melon, herbs, orange, and light mango. Such fine example of s light IPA, refreshing. Quaffable, and light on the pallate while remaining quite enjoyable. An IPA in loads like this will do. Can def tastevthe low key of the gravity but not like it really matters, this is grand.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a honey yellow with a nice bubbly white head. Aroma is orange, apricot, and honey. Some spices and a slight citrus bite on the front end, followed by a malty honey-like sweetness. Surprisingly delicious taste. Definitely the perfect session IPA.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very nice aroma and initial hop bitterness. The malt taste is somewhat weak and watery though resulting in a less satisfying aftertaste. That might be in keeping with its style as a session IPA but I still can not rate it higher because it is a negative for me. Nice hoppy start but weak watery finish, a bit like a well hopped lite beer.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
355 ml bottle bought at Craftissmo in Tsim Sha Tsui East.
Transluclent golden orange colour with faint trace of yeast; Half finger head and soapy white foam which lasted for 20 seconds; Small sticky lacing with notable small carbonation; Very fragrant sweet aroma of ale malt, with fresh orange, honey, grapefruit zest and juice, pomegranate, light pineapple, sugar, light pine, peaches, lime and light grass; Very light sweet taste of ale malt, with light grapefruit, notes of molasses, pine, light resin, lime, grass and moderate to light bitter hops; Mid to light body, thin, slick and slightly oozy palate; Mouth feel is by-the-book: just right maltyness, a bit thin but still piney and oozy, low sweet, negligible booze, touch of grapefruit, dry crispy as hell and strong hops. Pretty good for the style… Hoppiness is very fragrant orange, grapefruit, honey, tropical fruits and light pine aroma, restrained grapefruit, resiny pine, and strong grassy lime in taste. Strong but restrained bitter hops for a long, semi-abrupt bitter finish; Very dry after taste, bitter and quite spicy to mouth.
Comments: Have to get this style tick after the Oakham Citra was briefly listed as Session IPA (which I still think it is rather than being an APA). Doesn’t matter now: this one is very typical and to the point. Its aroma is way better than the muted and restrained taste. Still bitter and dry, this is close to perfect as Session IPA, but I prefer the tasty, sweet and boozy IPA proper or IIPAs instead.
