3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Transfer from BA review on 3-7-13-
Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – Served a clear golden colored brew with a tiny half finger white head. The head faded rather fast to leave only a very light level of lace on the sides of the glass
Smell- The aroma is heaviest of a citrus grapefruit hop smell with some sweeter caramel mixed within. Along with these smells is a lighter bready smell and hints of some pine hop.
Taste –The taste begins with a light bready and light caramel flavor mixed with a rather strong amount of grapefruit hop bitterness (at least for the relatively mild bready body). Some very light notes of a tangerine sweetness are upfront as well, with these fading relatively quickly as the taste advances. While these flavors of tangerine diminish the grapefruit hop flavors ever so slightly does as well but is replaced with a blend of grassy and pine hop tastes. This mix of lightly bready and caramel with a mix of grapefruit, pine and grassy hop leave a somewhat bitter and dry flavor to be left on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- For a 4.7 % abv brew the body is on the slightly thicker side with a carbonation level that is slightly below average. The thicker body really accentuated the hop tastes nicely, but with the lack of a body to back it up, it was almost too much for the brew, especially since the carbonation was on the lower side.
Overall – This is one nice low alcohol IPA. Its not perfect, but this is a difficult brew to build and balance that hop and body properly while still keeping the IPA hop character, but yet still keeping it sessionalbe. Founders dose a pretty good job.

Clearer and cleaner looking than most IPA’s, with a full white head. Crisp citrus, typical hop flavors. Served very cold at Tullys.

A good session ale that went well with a chicken and aubergine curry(eggplant!. Not my favourite session ale but I would go back to it again. I had this draught on a trip to Cape Cod at Local 186 burger bar and it holds up well in the bottle too, although draught wins hands down.
Mild on the hop front in comparison to many US IPA’s. Good beer.

Session IPAs have their place in the warmer months during the daytime hours, where drinking a high ABV, full bodied beer just doesn’t seem like a good idea. This Founders offering pours a light bodied yellow gold and exudes lots of earthy and fruit-forward hop notes. Definitely get some clementines, nectarine and grapefruit. Thin bodied mouthfeel with soda-water carbonation. This beer is a showcase of the marvels of dry hopping. Lots of delicious hoppiness packed into a smaller profile. Lacks depth and backbone compared to its APA, IPA and DIPA brethren, but definitely fills a gap for beer drinkers or want something light but wouldn’t be caught dead with a macro light, shandy or hefe.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This Indian pale ale at only 4.7% were said to be the ultimate way to celebrate life’s small pleasures and the perfect gift for a day’s honest work.
I could not agree more, after a walk in the garden, this American pale ale (or IPA) is a great brewed experience.
Partly cloudy yellow / orange color with a somewhat weak foam, which provide very little lace on the glass.
The fragrance is adorned with American hops which provide a nice citrus and pine aroma. A little dry, but what a fresh and delicious hoppy flavor of citrus fruits like lemon and orange. The beer is dry hopped to give a long lasting flavor with a pleasant bitter aftertaste, as the beer seem good and rich, despite the "low" rates.
Damn who, however, have a whole box of this wonderful hoppy summer drink.

On tap at a local bar. Pleasant and easy drinking beer. Light and easy to go down. Nice hop flavor but not too strong. Did notice some cardboard like after taste. May be old stock?

Bottle. Hazy copper body with a medium white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, flowers. Taste is clean and crisp fruity hops of the tropical kind, with a light piney finish. A really nice example of a "low abv" ipa
