Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is citrusy hops and sweet malts. Flavor is sweet, fruity, grassy, lightly malty with a little bitterness. Balanced and drinkable, seems like what they were shooting for.

Benzai (8212) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - MAY 6, 2013
Sampled at CBC 2013. Clear golden color, small to medium sized white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, moderate to heavy hoppy, lightly grapefruit and tropical fruits but mainly bitter hops. Nice flavor though and combined with the reasonably low ABV I’d say this is a very nice beer.

PorterPounder (5537) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Augusta, Ga. - Toast Wine and Beverage - 12 oz bottle. Sparkling, dark copper pour, light white head, dissipates rather quickly. Aroma has some strong cat urine hoppiness that you either love or hate - it kind of grows on you. Flavor is full bodied and bold, tangy bitter citrus, some minty notes, a whole lot of grassiness. Moutthfeel is thick enough. Only complaint is that it is rather one dimensional - kind of like a poor man’s Hopslam.

Growler filled at Bellport Dave’s Beer & Soda and consumed the same day. Pours a clear gold with a moderate white head. Very pleasant aroma that is filled with grapefruit and a bit of orange and pine as well. The flavor begins with weak malt, almost watery, followed by some hops bitterness that is more pith than fruit. Moderate bitterness at the finish. Thin, watery body. A good idea, just not quite there.
