I guess session beers are 4.7 percent now. Sigh. Criticism for the marketing of this as a "senses-sharp" beer aside, let’s discuss the aromatics, the bright hops, the sticky fruit and pine, and the long caramel and bread malt finish. This is not a beer for the proletariat. Founders is dreaming if they think the working man gets this. But for the good-beer man who wants a daytime tipple, this is a nice and rather refreshing option.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
The aroma is as expected from a IPA, grassy, grapefruit, citrus. And the taste delivers with a pretty light body, but also well balanced with a nice hoppy aftertaste. It is not overly bitter, and you just take sip after sip.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The first and IMO the worst of the hop water trend taking over the market. Totally unbalanced but still better than the fizzy yellow stuff.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle served in a pint glass.
A: Pours a slightly hazy pale yellow colour forming a big bubbled white head with medium to low retention. Tons of lingering lacings are formed and left in the glass. S: Very malty and grassy. Strong (and delicious notes) of sweet pale malts and tropical fruits. Strong notes of green mango! Notes of herby and grassy malts, oranges and grapefruit. T: Slightly sweet upfront. VERY Crispy! Strong notes of pale malts and citrus fruits. In overall, a quite dry taste followed by citrus and herby hops. Strong notes of green mangos. Medium and balanced hops bitterness. Very refreshing and smooth. M: Very light body. Good carbonation. Malty, bready and grassy aftertaste O: Great drinkability. Just another Founders classic Ale, no mistake here.

Pours a clear, deep golden with a medium fluffy/creamy head. Very pleasant aroma of tropical fruits, citrus, grass and peach. Taste is well balanced, a little sweet at first then finishes just a bit bitter. Crisp on the palate with avg co2. Highly drinkable and refreshing!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Koperkleurige session ipa met een mooie volle schuimkraag. Ruikt naar hop en sinasappel. Veel smaak voor zo weinig alcohol.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Byron. Quite amber colour, very fizzy. Quite hoppy, pine and grapefruit. Brief finish. Body is a bit thin and sweet. It’s fine, tastes nice enough, it’s an average American style pale ale. Too much alcohol, too fizzy, too thin and one dimensional to be a good session beer though.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Copper color with a white head. Aroma contains some pine and oranges. Flavor is somewhat bitter with some lemons and oranges. The palate is a bit thin but thats kknda the point with session IPAs.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Thin and watery brew with a tart piney bitterness lasting from start to finish. In the alternate universe where IPA is the regular lager, this is the Bud Light.
