3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MAFountain (18) - Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA - MAR 4, 201212oz bottle to a New Belgium Globe
Aroma: Pine, citrus, the usual hop characters you would expect. A very minimal hint of toast character.
Appearance: Amber, slighlty cloudy, minimal head, and no lacing.
Taste: Medium bitterness, not overpowering at all. I
Palate: A light body, slightly oily, yet thin. Average carbonation, with a quick dry finish.
O: For what Founders was probably aiming for with this; they nailed it. It’s an enjoyable, flavorful IPA, that doesn’t overpower you. I liked it.

Poured from bottle found at Beverage World. Immediate aroma is great. A good combo of citrus and pine. Looks almost clear and yellow. Taste is too strong. Not what I was expecting from the smell. Taste is way too piney. Not my favorite from founders. Leaves a sharp aftertaste.

Bottle at home. Pungent aroma of juicy citrus fruits. Light bodied, aggressive carbonation. Bright stone fruit flavors dominate - peach and apricot. The hop profile is fruity, fresh, and expressive. Well attenuated, dry and thin finish. It struggles to stay together, due to the lack of malt. Really tasty for what it is.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 vyvvy (3287) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - JUN 18, 2013
Pours clear copper with a fairly small white head. The aroma has pine tropical fruit, dankness, funk and light caramel candy-ish maltiness. It has a fairly light body and is crisp with a moderate amount of carbonation. The flavor starts out much drier than the aroma with more of a dry caramel malt with a bit of earthiness. The hops are more of the pine, grapefruit and spicy. The finish is bone dry and has a bit more spice to it and almost a hint of rye bread. Really nice take on the lower alcohol IPA trend.

Bottle. Pours hazy gold. Smells of mixed fruits. Tastes of fruit and carbonation. Nice lasting palate.

Pours a crystal clear gold with medium frothy white head. Aroma is intensely hoppy, mostly fruit. I get peach, apricot, maybe green apple? Also a hint of grassy/floral hops as well. Medium bodied, feels full in the mouth but not syrupy at all. Taste is mildly sweet and turns quickly to bitter, but not overwhelmingly so. Bitterness increases in the finish. Taste is really fresh and refreshing. Yum. Definitely a good beer to sip all day. :)
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 harrisoni (11025) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUN 18, 2013
355ml bottle from Utobeer. Clear amber colour thin lasting white head. Peachy hoppy aroma. Bit fizzy, good hoppy flavour, not too much bitterness on finish. But I really liked the peachy, apricot flavours in the mouth, a bit like a fruit salad chew from the 1980s. Yes certainly an all day beer.

Thin gold, scant head. Nose is slightly citrus hops. Bitter. Middle is light bodied malt and snappy hop bitterness. Finish is dry and appetizing.

Bottle, toe-to-toe with Mallinsons Bramling Cross. Was expecting the Founders to get smashed to pieces to be honest..but not a bit of it; hugely fragrant pour wafting with guava, tinned peach, blackcurrant, pink grapefuit..I could go on. That’s a 9. Briilliant, crisp, stewed and tropical hop with lychee, passion and dragon fruit overpowering hints of biscuit. Fresh, green, multicoloured tropical hops to rival Oakham, Kernel or Mallinsons: yes, that good. An American impersonating an Englishman impersonating an American impersonating an Englishman. Brilliantly.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jkoch (45) - USA - JUN 17, 2013
Nice hoppy beer without the high alcohol in a typical IPA. This is a great beer for having a few of in the afternoon. My only complaint is that it's no cheaper than a full strength IPA.

Nearly clear gold with medium white head. Aroma is pink grapefruit and pine in the background. Taste is hoppy, malty and rye floating around in the back. Palate is crisp, but a little thin.
