3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Orange gold with a diminishing foam. Aromas are pineapple and grapefruit with toast malts and yeast. Spicy with lemon and candy sugar. Floral with grain and citrus rind. Flavours are trtropical fruit with bitter lemon and grapefruit. Biscuit and low brown sugar with caramel. Quite herbal, spicy and fruity. Simple yet effective.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
Citrusy hops and their spicy greenness (very sage-like!) dally within a lean, bubbly mouthfeel brushed by lightly honeyed malts.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A fleeting head of foam finally settles atop the misty golden.
-The spicy hop profile is also reminiscent of citrusy thyme and lemongrass.
-The finish is relatively dry and just a tad bitter.
-Carbonation’s a bit too prickly for my tastes.
-This is the kind of brew the British have been doing extremely well for a while now. If you like this Founders’ brew, you should love most hoppy Golden Ales brewed in the UK.

Draft and sixer from Capone’s. Pours clear dark straw with off-white head. Nose pops, with mango, tangerine, pineapple, caramel malt, piney hops. Tastes piney hoppy, with tropical fruit, black pepper, and a crisp finish. Also finishes a bit dry. The draft is better, but I could drink either version all day.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market North Raleigh and shared at the Baltimore Irish Chanukah tasting, 3/17/12. Pours a clear golden color with a thin fizzy off-white head. Decent retention. Aroma of herbal, floral hops and bready malts. The taste is bitter hops, bready slightly toasted malts. Medium bodied, quite drinkable.

355mL as "All Day IPA" thanks to mikem409. Super fresh bottle consumed two weeks after bottling! Pours clear, correctly filtered and non bottle conditioned orangish gold with lower carbonation and a medium, white, rocky head. Suddy lace. Nose is fresh orange juice, light mango, Valencia orange, sweet mangosteen, lemon zest, herbal hops, candied tamarind. Mild waffle and pancake sugary malt quality. Taste is quit old school- rich biscuity and full with faux diacetyl ending with sharp, herbal hops and juicy orange. No true diacetyl. Finish is super clean and light with hints of herbal soapiness and quenching saltwater. So good for 4.7% and bonus points for that. My sick girlfriend said it tasted like "grandma’s biscuits with hops." Terrific session beer. Thank the lord for this!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Poured clear, lighter golden with a short, white head. The aroma picked up grassy and citrusy hops over soft bready malts.. aiight. The flavor found bitter floral and orange zesty bitterness over dry pale and bready notes.. finished dry and tangy. Light-bodied and tangy on the palate. . Ok feel and flow.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample at Kalamazoo Beer Exchange (as "All Day IPA). Pours a lustrous clear yellow-orange color with a medium bone white head that burns away steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Light body with a moderately bitter hops character that has grassy and fruity notes. Malt and caramel in the background. The finish is hoppy with a citrus aftertaste. Solid "Session IPA" overall.

Had this at Chris and Ruths at the end of the evenjng on Saturday 17th August 2013 Jan & Charlotte also in attendance, big thanks to whoever brought this along. Smallish amount but what poured was a hazy gold colour and was soft in the mouth, enjoyable beer with a pleasant fruity bite, good citrus showing. Tasty beer. 3.4 A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, toe-to-toe with Mallinsons Bramling Cross. Was expecting the Founders to get smashed to pieces to be honest..but not a bit of it; hugely fragrant pour wafting with guava, tinned peach, blackcurrant, pink grapefuit..I could go on. That’s a 9. Briilliant, crisp, stewed and tropical hop with lychee, passion and dragon fruit overpowering hints of biscuit. Fresh, green, multicoloured tropical hops to rival Oakham, Kernel or Mallinsons: yes, that good. An American impersonating an Englishman impersonating an American impersonating an Englishman. Brilliantly.
