Bottle at Byron. Quite amber colour, very fizzy. Quite hoppy, pine and grapefruit. Brief finish. Body is a bit thin and sweet. Itís fine, tastes nice enough, itís an average American style pale ale. Too much alcohol, too fizzy, too thin and one dimensional to be a good session beer though.

Bottle, 0.355l. Hazy amber orange color with medium frothy white head, fair lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of citrus, lychee, pine, herbs and caramel malt. Taste starts with light sweet malt, follows by refreshing fruity acidity with heavy bitter finish and long aftertaste. Medium to full body, dry texture and average carbonation in palate. Great after work pleasure...

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2013 I poured a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. It was bottled on 2/11/13 making it two and a half months old.

Appearance: Golden/light orange hue. Slightly hazy. Forms a small, white, soapy head which mostly dissolves and leaves minor lacing on the glass.

Smell: Light "cat pee" and a general tropical fruit scent. A hint of spice, too.

Taste: Iím not really sure if Founders All Day IPA can truly be considered an IPA. It has a fairly prominent hop character, but the body is a bit too light. Itís more accurately described as a hoppy pale ale, but since this beer is intentionally lighter in body and sessionable, Iíll let it slide.

Whatís nice is you get genuine hop taste here, not just bitterness. I couldnít find a listing of the hops used but Iím guessing Simcoe, Amarillo, Cascade and possibly Summit. Thereís an interesting combination of tropical fruit flavor, along with a hint of garlic and some pine. The bitterness isnít too strong, but it certainly is noticeable (42 IBUs according to the bottle). Thereís an ubiquitous earthy/piney character making it rather complex as far as the hop profile goes. Not much in the way of malt, though, just a standard pale ale base without much sweetness or distinct character. Though a bit simplistic, it all adds up to a surprisingly satisfying beer.

Drinkability: Founders All Day IPA has a sub-heading of "session ale" on the label, which tells me exactly what this beer is intended to do. Though plenty flavorful, itís never too intense which makes it quite drinker-friendly. The mouthfeel is on the thinner side with a smooth finish and relatively clean aftertaste. I wouldnít consider it to be truly refreshing, though, due to the earthy/herbal hop profile. At 4.7% ABV, this is one of the few IPA(ish) beers you can drink in large quantities without getting bored or overwhelmed.

Light golden color. Bottle at obx. Aroma is awesome with fresh blast of floral hops. Lighter head. Medium bitterness. Medium light body. These guys just know how to make good beer. Just a nice fresh floral hop session.

On tap at the Roundhouse, Hong Kong. Pours gold, white head. Nose is pine, citrus, pretty normal but fresh and spritzy with some lemon. Dryness prevails in the flavour, spritzy and normal pine etc. Dry and fresh finish. Lives up to the hype.

I really digged this IPA. Drank from the bottle. Aroma is all grapefruit, pummelo, pine trees, and wet dirt. Flavors match up pretty similarly. Well balanced. A touch of sweetness but on the drier side. I love the low ABV. My only complaint is that it gives me an insta-headache every time I had one.

On tap at the Kernels stadium. A golden beer with a yellowish head.. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, hops, and straw, leading to a bitter finish. Good easy-drinking beer.

Thanks for the bottle, OmegaX. The aroma was full of fresh hops; almost smelling like vegetables. It tasted dry and palatable with undertones of grapefruit and bitter orange peel. Seriously refreshing stuff here.

Pours a yellow gold. Aroma of fresh hops. Taste is slightly malt up front with a massively dry crispness at the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
