Bottle from a case I got at Frank Smith’s. Pours a yellow to slight orange with weak large bubbled head that fades fast save a light ring around the side of the glass. nose is slight mild citrus and sweet orage jello, first sip is nice clean and bright mild hoppy flavors, finish with refreshing citrus bitterness that lingers nicely. fun beer

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass. The label lists the abv at 4.7% and the IBUs at 42.
Appearance: It has a clear, honey amber colored body with a small off white head. There is some visible line’s of carbonation supporting the slow fading head. Leasing is minimal and slick.
Smell: Big notes of citrusy grapefruit fills the nose with light candy like fruity bass underneath.
Taste/Palate: The palate it feels a bit light and thin. A mild malt bass slowly gives way to mild citrus and pine like hop bitterness in the finish.
Notes: Overall after the aroma it gets a bit boring.

Well this finally showed up in the Northeast, CT to be exact. No bottle date on the neck? Ok...either way it just popped up so its fresh as hell.
A - Pours a rather clear golden amber body. A fingers worth of white foam fades away quickly, decent lacing.
S - Woah, tropical fruit bomb. Papaya, mango, peach...the whole gang is here. A bit of biscuity malt and pine/dankness to balance it all out.
T - Tropical fruits lead into light biscuity malts. Man, this is tasty as all hell!! Just loads of peaches.
M - Light to medium bodied, lighlty creamy with ample carbonation. I could drink this all day so mission accomplished.
O - This is an awesome beer and I love the lower abv. Do not love the price though. $11 for a six pack at a reasonable store? Oy....this is a touch pill to swallow.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap @ Willy McCoy’s. Pours a darker than expected honey amber with fading head and decent lacing. Aroma is light but bright hops with slight pine, slight malts, and slight citrus, slight BO funk. Easy drinking taste - clean, mildly bitter, straightforward. Not quite as good as Stone’s new session IPA, but similar and close.

Pours yellow with a golden tinge and a generous, foamy white head. Nose is hoppy. Piney notes. Taste is also dominated by the hop notes; nice crisp bitterness. Medium to full body. Very nice!

Salty. If you’d used this for your slug trap, Thomas, they’d have been in double trouble.

Is there room on the sessionable IPA bandwagon for one more? This beer makes me ask whether I prefer drinking this to a standard ABV IPA. I am not sure of the answer, but I am beginning to lean towards the affirmative. Pours light orange with white head. Smell is fruity. Refreshing level of carbonation. Bitter, but not too bitter, finish. I wish they would make this a year round beer so I could enjoy it fresh throughout the college football tailgate season. Draft - Brick Store Pub - Decatur, GA

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour is light apricot amber with thin head. Spicy aroma with a good whack of stone fruit. Flavor is a restrained ipa with plenty of malt, singer fruit and an affirmative finish but not cloying. As the name sessional implies, more than one can be drunk without destroying the palate.

February 2013 bottle to Dogfish Head IPA glass. Pours a bright golden color with a foamy white head that shrinks quickly. Aroma is a pleasant grass and piney hops with citrus notes. Taste is malt forward with the hops coming in the middle and finishing with a little grassy bitterness. The malt provides a slight sweetness that amplifies the hops , in a good way. Thin mouthfeel. Uncomplicated and pleasant, which I suppose is the point since its designed to be a session beer. It's a good introductory IPA for someone unsure of the style, as well as a good casual drinking beer.
