Bottle @ Tap East Festival. Light gold with a small head. The nose is countryside meadow. Light grassy hops. A bit of lemon cake and bread. The taste is light floral hops, grass. Fairly soft and approachable. Some brioche. Light bitter finish. Light body, fine carbonation. Overall, a pretty easy-drinking beer. Not taxing on the palate. The kind of thing you’d bring to a BBQ on a warm day, I guess.

TATE (304) - Lubec, Maine, USA - JUL 3, 2013
Bottle. Pours amber with a thin off white head. Not much for aroma, a bit of fruity hop. Flavor is nice, a pretty mellow IPA which is more my speed. The big thing about this beer is the amount of flavor they got in it for a low ABV, very impressive and lives up to the name. I could have had a few more of these.

Bottle. Pours a clear light copper body with a small fizzy white head that faded to a thin film. The nose is pretty nice, lots of fresh floral and fruity hops with minimal intrusion from the malt. I suppose that’s the point. The flavor is quite full of hoppy flavors of flowers and fruitiness, but while the point of this is to be sessionable, it comes across as a bit thin and watery. Very dry and thin with soft fizzy carbonation. Short lightly bitter finish. Not really a fan of this one.

Nice fragrant nose or orange, peach, a bit of resin. Deep orange color with lace. Super hoppy flavor, grapefruit rind, very bitter, rather thin and unbalanced. The malt can’t keep up with the hops. Too bitter, like hop tea. Not very drinkable, really.

This beer is definitely sessionable. I did feel that the hop to malt ratio was a like unbalanced...even for a session ale.

Flaske 0,355l fra Kilpishalli. Gyldenbrun. Ok skum som varer en stund. Litt lacing. God aprikos/ananas-aroma. Smaken det samme - men blir litt vassen. Litt tørr avslutning.

(Bottle) Hazy golden amber with little head. Plenty of aroma, primarily pine, but with quite a lot more going on including citrus and floral. Very interesting and inviting. Light body with moderate carbonation. Taste presents some difficulties, because in some respects it is rather thin and watery, and in others it’s got a very decent hoppy bitterness. It starts wet and thin with a little malt and some restrained but pleasant hoppy bitterness. The hoppy bitterness builds in the finish and is quite crisp but also a little harsh. Overall this is a strange beer. I understand what they are doing, and they have done it quite well. However, for me, it doesn’t work; it sort of feels hollowed out - presumably because the malty body and the alcohol are substantially reduced.

Bottle from Strait and Narrow. Cloudy golden colour with small white head. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit, and grassy. Taste also with a bitter finish.
