February 2013 bottle to Dogfish Head IPA glass. Pours a bright golden color with a foamy white head that shrinks quickly. Aroma is a pleasant grass and piney hops with citrus notes. Taste is malt forward with the hops coming in the middle and finishing with a little grassy bitterness. The malt provides a slight sweetness that amplifies the hops , in a good way. Thin mouthfeel. Uncomplicated and pleasant, which I suppose is the point since its designed to be a session beer. It's a good introductory IPA for someone unsure of the style, as well as a good casual drinking beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle, pours a clear medium golden. Nice floral hoppy aroma. Taste is hoppy, floral, grassy, light and crisp. Nice and refreshing, would be a great choice to toss back on a summer day.

12oz bottle---> New Belgium globe. Pours a dark straw with a one finger head that leaves a bit of spotty lace. Aroma is nice tropical fruit . Taste is fairly muted grapefruit and apricot. Slightly fizzy palate with thin body. Won’t blow you away, but I think they hit the mark for a sessionable IPA. Only complaint is that everything is kind of muted. Will drink more.

Ccb hanuphu day. Tap, pours light gold. Light alcohol? Light hops but still present. Hops blend well with malt clean beer. Light flavors like mango, tangerine, and citrus.

Growler from Casanovas in Hudson, WI. Nice floral hop, with some citrus and pineapple notes. Taste is some very light pine hop, light bitterness, great all day long ipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from a case I got at Frank Smith’s. Pours a yellow to slight orange with weak large bubbled head that fades fast save a light ring around the side of the glass. nose is slight mild citrus and sweet orage jello, first sip is nice clean and bright mild hoppy flavors, finish with refreshing citrus bitterness that lingers nicely. fun beer

Aromas of pine resin, nutmeg-like herbal tones, zesty lime, and bread crust. Clear copper with a mostly fading, off-white head. Dry, quite bitter, and minimally grainy, with hints of rye-like spiciness. Light-medium body, moderately low carbonation, very clean, and finishes dryly with lingering pine and spice. More bitter than I anticipated, with only 42 IBUs, though the combination of freshness and low ABV are probably bringing out all the alpha acids in full force. Glad this one finally hit VA!

I guess session beers are 4.7 percent now. Sigh. Criticism for the marketing of this as a "senses-sharp" beer aside, let’s discuss the aromatics, the bright hops, the sticky fruit and pine, and the long caramel and bread malt finish. This is not a beer for the proletariat. Founders is dreaming if they think the working man gets this. But for the good-beer man who wants a daytime tipple, this is a nice and rather refreshing option.

Pours a fairly clear golden hue with a thinner eggshell head that settles to a ring and leaves a fair amount of soapy lace. Nose involves some dank pine resin, lighter citrus and tropical fruit notes. Taste is somewhat sweet, plenty bitter. Thinner bodied, light, crisp, with a refreshing and fairly lengthy bitter finish. Would be excellent in the dead of summer. It’s kind of like a half-strength Double Trouble, the hop profiles are so similar.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2015 Really smooth drinking session IPA at Mad Mex. Not too overly hopped. Sweet taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
