bottle to glass reveals a light copper appearance. Most lower alcohol beers are terrible in the taste department, but this is basically your standard IPA flavorwise. Nice pine, resin, spruce, and light citrus. Nicely done Founders, but not quite as satisfying as Victory’s Headwaters.

12 oz bottle: Aroma has a wonderful pungent hop aroma, juicy grapefruit, nice and sweet scent too. Appearance is golden with the slightest hue of amber and minimal white head that lingers. Taste has a wonder upfront hop not then a nicely balance malt backing. Don’t get me wrong, the hops are the star of the show. But very, very slight malt characteristic. Palate is slightly sticky aftertaste with hops the major contributor, and a medium to low carbonation in the mouthfeel. Overall, A really taste Session IPA. Cheers!

12oz bottle thanks to grub.
Appearance : Clear amber with small white foamy head. Short head retention, not much lacing.
Aroma : Fresh floral and piny hops. Quite fruity. Some malt.
Taste : Fruity and piny hops with malt. Finish is rather resinous and piny with some floral notes. Moderate bitterness. No trace of alcohol. Persistent hops on finish, slightly oily.
Palate : Average carbonation. Could a bit mellower.
Overall : Great stuff. Would have been more sessionable for me if the resinous notes were tone down a bit and if carbonation was slightly less fizzy. Overall a very nice offering. Well made, well balanced.

Apparently I’m on an ipa kick right now. This is a little lighter and on the more grassy side. Definitely session able. Copper color. Tangerine apricot aroma. Flavor has some caramel body but is mostly grassy and herbal in the finish

Pours a light copper-gold with a medium-sized white head. Powerful aroma with plenty of citrus and grassy hops. The taste if much less strong than the smell, less hoppy too.

Pours a mid hazey light copper color with a finger head that dissipates quickly... aromas are crisp and floral with cirusy hop notes and touches of pale malts. On teh palate it is a solid session IPA with great flavors that balance to a very drinkable clean finish. RIpe hop flavors gently balanced by light malty notes and a subtle bitterness in the finish. Almost like a hoppy pilsner... MMMMMM.

February 2013 bottle to Dogfish Head IPA glass. Pours a bright golden color with a foamy white head that shrinks quickly. Aroma is a pleasant grass and piney hops with citrus notes. Taste is malt forward with the hops coming in the middle and finishing with a little grassy bitterness. The malt provides a slight sweetness that amplifies the hops , in a good way. Thin mouthfeel. Uncomplicated and pleasant, which I suppose is the point since its designed to be a session beer. It's a good introductory IPA for someone unsure of the style, as well as a good casual drinking beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle, pours a clear medium golden. Nice floral hoppy aroma. Taste is hoppy, floral, grassy, light and crisp. Nice and refreshing, would be a great choice to toss back on a summer day.

12oz bottle---> New Belgium globe. Pours a dark straw with a one finger head that leaves a bit of spotty lace. Aroma is nice tropical fruit . Taste is fairly muted grapefruit and apricot. Slightly fizzy palate with thin body. Won’t blow you away, but I think they hit the mark for a sessionable IPA. Only complaint is that everything is kind of muted. Will drink more.
