3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a Portsmouth Brewery tulip glass.
The color is a orange/gold with a finger or two of foamy white head with a little thin lacing left on the glass.
The smell is hoppy pine at first. There is a nice sweet malt backbone that does have a presence here in the nose. There is some nice flowery grass aroma here that is quite pleasant.
The taste is bit different with some bitterness charging forward giving a slight resin flavor that is a little off putting. The is a touch of grapefruit and pine flavor there before going into a malt flavor that barely has a chance to get used to before the bitterness returns pop at the end.
The feel of the beer is medium bodied and has a nice drinkable feel to it. There is lighter carbonation on this beer and the low ABV helps bring the flavor without bringing the intoxication.

Draught at BJ’s in Dublin Ohio, US. Dark golden with a white head. Heap of fresh hops in the aroma, pine and grapefruit. A bit thin/watery in the mouth but with plenty of hop flavours. Short finish.

Bottle. About the best bottled beer I have tried. Extremely tasty, full-bodied IPA, with only 4.7 ABV. Bravo!

Pours a honey gold color. Somewhat cloudy with sediment hanging around in there. Nice white head. Okay retention, okay lacing. Pretty well carbonated.
Aroma is not as bold as a regular IPA, but still nice. Earthy hops, pine, orange zest. I smell yeast, and caramel. Caramel is more prevalent in this than most IPAs.
Taste is well balanced between sweet and bitter. It’s about as balanced as you’ll get in an IPA. All the aroma qualities come out in the taste. Good flavor for session IPA.
Mouthfeel is medium light. There’s lots of flavor in this. I would guess the heavy carbonation is what does this. It’s very active in carbonation on the tongue. This is not only sessionable, but sustainable. Man, I could probably drink a gallon of this without realizing it. Finishes slightly orange zest bitter.
Overall, this is mighty fine. After a hard day at my soul sucking job, this is a great way to unwind. Sure, you might say it’s needs higher ABV...nah...this is good just like it is. Yes, I would drink it again. Yes, I would buy it again, and yes, I would recommend it.

Draft pint in The Duke, Walthamstow on 24th April 2016. Slight haze to the orange pour with a fading off-white head. Nice balance to the hop centric brew with enough malts to stop the beer being too bitter. Liked it.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2016 From Club del Gourmet of El Corte Ingles El Duque. In Westvleteren XII small chalice. Shared with agu. Snack at home. After all high ABV beers Ive taken today (Aventinus Eisbock, Chimay Blue Limited Edition 2014, etc.) and the fact that its BB date is on Oct 16, hops are still noticeable and taste and body are pretty good for such a low ABV brew

12 oz can: Blonde color. Fresh hop pellet aroma and a crisp, refreshing apricot-grapefruit flavor profile. Really not much else to say, a nice, drinkable IPA.
