3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a Portsmouth Brewery tulip glass.
The color is a orange/gold with a finger or two of foamy white head with a little thin lacing left on the glass.
The smell is hoppy pine at first. There is a nice sweet malt backbone that does have a presence here in the nose. There is some nice flowery grass aroma here that is quite pleasant.
The taste is bit different with some bitterness charging forward giving a slight resin flavor that is a little off putting. The is a touch of grapefruit and pine flavor there before going into a malt flavor that barely has a chance to get used to before the bitterness returns pop at the end.
The feel of the beer is medium bodied and has a nice drinkable feel to it. There is lighter carbonation on this beer and the low ABV helps bring the flavor without bringing the intoxication.

At first had a really fresh nice aroma. Tropical hops. Then it kind of died down. The taste is not as good as the aroma. Slightly thin which might have to do with the alcohol level.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
One of those new ISAs (India session ale), or ’session IPAs’ as they are called here. Pours a slightly hazy ’old gold’ colour (lightly orangey blonde) with a healthy amount of fizz, under a moussy, irregular, snow white head. Aroma has all the ’citrusness’ and vivid, ’happy’ fruitiness you’d expect from the style; tangelo all the way through, pink grapefruit, mandarin peel, papaja, passion fruit, fresh pineapple, lime, apple cake, subtle honey, sweet white grapes, herbs, tons of salty minerals like in very fizzy and minerally sparkling water, tulips, hint of blue cheese, red apple. Crisp and lively fruity onset, a bit minerally with a very faint salty touch, pineapple, pear, berries; strongish carbonation just perfect for the style, minerally, over a lean, supple, smooth, slightly nutty and lightly bready malt backbone, with spicy, peppery and very citrussy hops creeping in and ensuring a long, dry, utterly quenching, bitter finish. Sweetness, sourness and saltiness are all there in the beginning, all in a subtle and well-balanced way, playing with each other until the cleansing, fresh bitterness comes along to finish things off. Very nice example of the style, but I can vividly imagine having one fresh from tap in the States would add another dimension to tasting one from a bottle which has already crossed the Atlantic...

Seems pretty classic IPA. Relatively peppery. Pretty wet on the tongue. Light? Slight nuttiness.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
from Bier-Bienne - cloudy dark orange beer with a long lasting foam left; fruity hoppy aroma of peaches and apricot; medium-bodied; subtle yet fairly carbonated, tasty and assertive; dry and fairly bitter with a long fruity hoppy finish

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a light amber with medium off-white head. Big west coast aroma with loads of tropical fruits, mango, tangerine, some herbs and grassy scents. The palate is pretty light bodied, which I guess is to be expected. The bitterness is rather moderate and perfectly in balance with the body. The finish is rather long.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A: Can pours a dirty light orange haze with next to no head or lace, light carb.
S: Only pine but beer is very cold. Not much developed as drunk.
T: Hops are more subtle than the nose but pronounced. Piney and slightly sticky. Light but flavorful.
M: Again, light and slightly sticky/oily. Pretty clean overall though and pretty good too.

Leans much more to hoppy and bitter rather than fruity and crisp. Super easy to drink.
