draft at founders....appearance: hazy ornage brown with a thin head....aroma: very assertive citrus hop nose....taste: lots of pine and citrus. a very nice double ipa but does nothing to make it stand out from the others i have tried.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 pnista (1007) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - FEB 24, 2008
On tap at Founders. Clear orangy gold with a white head. Big fresh resiny hops. Citrus, sweet clean nose. Medium body with even small bubbles. Big fresh hops, light sweetness. A bit of a big dry tea-like tannic hoppiness to go with that lovely fresh resin flavor. A bitter finish for sure. Reminiscent of the SN Harvest ale, me thinks, though a bit drier with lightr malt character. I love Founders more all the time!

On tap at the Great Lakes Brew Fest. Pours a clear orange with a beige head. Aroma is citrus, orange and pine. Orange citrus fruity flavors with caramels, and a strong slightly cloying bitterness. Tasty beer though.

Had this on tap at the brewery. Smelled wonderful, citrus, exotic tropical fruit. Taste was very nice. Everything I hope for in a DIPA. Grapefruit, citrus, very balanced and nicely hopped. Very nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 bdigital (637) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - AUG 29, 2007
Draft at the brewery: Light copper color and a small white head to boot. Very aromatic; floral and pine hops with a slight citrus hint. Dry, resin taste throughout balanced out by a pineapple sweetness. Good, but almost too dry and pine-oriented.

On Tap. Aroma is piney and maybe a little citrus. A little on the light side from the looks of the beer. Flavor is great however, very nice and smooth for a double. So good on tap i had to get a growler.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Silphium (2718) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - AUG 27, 2007
On tap at Founders. Hazy medium orange body, medium dense off-white head. Familiar aroma of grapefruit and tropical fruit, emphasizing Amarillo hops, I presume. Bold citrusy body with bitter, acidic hops, backed by modest bready malts. Not syrupy or heavy like some I2PAs, instead managing to maintain some semblance of drinkability.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2007 ..tap at founders....semi-translucent, copper colored body with medium white head...aroma huge in floral qualities, berry, light pine, and just a touch of sugar...hopslam to the mouth (no...i am not referring to Bells Hopslam IIPA) with the same floral, perfume-like qualities...insanely fresh, completely quaffable, and delectably bitter...amarillo hops abound again however
