Dark amber color with a sweet malt flavor and mild hop. A nice beer, nothing offensive - and that's not good.

Oct 31, 2007 Sampled at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits mini tasting and shared by joebrew as Founder’s Red Eye Ale. Pours a hazy orange amber brew with a thick beige head that has some good retention. Aroma of caramel malt, some flowery hops wit a slight apple/pear character. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of fruity caramel malt, some citrusy hops and a touch of butterscotch. Finish is semi-sweet, dry hop bitterness and a slight fruit aftertaste flavor.

Jan 8, 2007 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Hazy, amber golden with a gigantic, off-white head. Fruity aroma. Light-bodied with underlying, unclean notes of cheap candy. No bitterness. Quite unpleasant really. I sort of hope this was off. 291206
