COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blushing Monk is brewed with a ridiculous amount of raspberries and with a Belgian yeast strain that keeps our head cellar operator from sleeping for a week. It pours a stunning deep berry red and, at 9.2% ABV, has a surprising kick. The perfect dessert beer, it can be enjoyed on its own or paired with fresh cheeses, fruit, cakes and more.

First released in July 2011, rereleased in 2015.

Poured a luminous reddish purple with a white head. Aroma of sickly sweet raspberries. Medium body, flavour is of the fruit, a bit too sweet for my palate.

On tap at Macgregor’s. It poured a ruby color with no head. The aroma was of raspberries, vanilla and light floral notes. The taste was of mixed berries with some subtle sweetness, a hint of chocolate and a lightly tart raspberry finish. It had a medium body and soft carbonation.

Beautiful clear red with light pinkish white head. Raspberries shine. Alcohol presence is noticeable. Little syrupy. Concentrated. Rich raspberry and cherry. Enjoyable but I wish there was room for more than just the fruit. However, I think it is a masterful brew.

Beautiful aroma. So light and fresh. Taste is a little heavy, syrupy, and alcoholic based on what I was hoping from the aroma but not bad.

Poured from bomber into a tulip: Pours dark ruby red with a pink head. Aroma is huge raspberry Belgian funk. Taste is fairly sweet but not overly so. Lots of raspberries and other fruit notes, not at all tart which is what I was hoping for. Decent fruit beer.

Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pours almost clear dark red, with a small creamy white/pinkish head. Aroma is strong raspberries candy. Inviting and lovely. Taste is more like a sweet soda, raspberries and only raspberries, but with a good drinkability, if you are a sweet tooth like me, this is a more than decent beer.
