750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in June 2012. Pours lightly hazy dark ruby red color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big hazelnut, caramel, chocolate, toffee, toast, brown bread, brown sugar, coffee, nuttiness, and toasted earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of malt and hazelnut coffee notes; with big strength. Taste of hazelnut, caramel, chocolate, toast, toffee, molasses, brown bread, brown sugar, nuttiness, floral, and toasted earthiness. Light coffee bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of hazelnut, chocolate, caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, nuttiness, floral, light coffee, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible balance and complexity of dark/toasted malt notes with the hazelnut coffee; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a creamy and slick mouthfeel that is great. Alchocol is very well hidden with minimal warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic imperial brown ale! All around great balance and complexity of dark/roasted malts with the hazelnut coffee; and very smooth to sip on for 9%. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bell’s Best Brown was my favorite brown ale until I had this. Hot damn this is great. Coffee, cocoa, and hazelnut, but not overwhelming. Nice warming ABV. Lovely scent and beautiful to look at.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks ThreeCats. Brown color with reddish hues. Aroma of hazelnut (kinda artificial), coffee beans and chocolate. Pretty sweet flavor with artificial hazelnut, some coffee with milk and some chocolate. Medium-bodied.

Nice dense head over clear Ruby body. Aroma of hazelnut and dolce de lache. Taste of hazelnut coffee, caramel, sweetness. Overall taste a little artificial and more like coffee than beer, but nice experience.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a small tight bubbled beige head that faded to a thin covering. The nose is just absolutely wonderful. It really does smell like Frangelico liquor. The hazelnut and coffee notes mingle so well with the chocolate and caramel maltiness below. No real sign of alcohol on the nose at all. This smells so decadent that I might just want to smell this and not even drink it. The flavor is maybe a bit heavy on the hazelnut for me, reminds me a lot of Rogue Hazelnut Nectar. The flavors are really well integrated though, sweet but not overly so, nice caramel malt backbone. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a bit of clinginess, soft fizzy carbonation. No alcohol heat at all. Really nice beer, but I think I might prefer this in a 12 oz bottle.

Brown pour. Was really hoping for more from this, expexted a hazelnut breakfast stout. Instead got a think brown with a bit of hazelnut and less coffee than i hoped for.

Tap at the MKE Firkin Fest 2013. This beer is an amazing brown ale. Deep brown body with pretty much no head. Aroma and flavor is very much like a Ferrero Rocher® candy. Rich mouthfeel, this beer was a highlight of the festival, and I drank many samples.
